Gorodetskiy Relief

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Ilya Gorodetskiy
Ilya Gorodetskiy

Last year's 16th place finisher Ilya Gorodetskiy has doubled up. We only caught the very very tail end of the hand, but it was enough to see that Gorodetskiy was holding {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} on a {j-}{4-}{4-}{q-}{q-} board. He's still pretty short though.

Triplet Cowboys Save Three Short Stacks

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Konstantin Puchkov. Just one of the many examples of kings holding.
Konstantin Puchkov. Just one of the many examples of kings holding.

Pocket kings are all over the place this level. Konstantin Puchkov played them by flat calling a raise preflop in the big blind, then check-raising a {2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Spades} flop and getting paid 139,500 by {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

Qualifier David Stogel had just 60,000 and got it in preflop with his kings vs. Mario Adinolfi's {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}. These held but Adinolfi just chuckled (he has 610,000).

Finally Erich Kollmann was another preflop all-in cowboy-holder vs. the {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} of [Removed:285]. The crowd was so intense around this particular table that his chip count will have to come separately, later.

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Dara O'Kearney
Dara O'Kearney

Former EPT champion Joao Barbosa is now grinding a short stack of just 47,500 after losing a big pot to Dara O'Kearney.

The Irishman was all-in with {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} against Barbosa's {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and held on a board of {6-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds} to increase his own stack to 167,000.

Lundmark Cracks Open the Bolly

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

It looked as though Bolivar Palacios had made the opening raise to 13,500 and Timo Pfützenreuter had called behind before Kent Lundmark made it 24,600 to go. Back to Palacios , who now made it 66,500. Pfützenreuter folded, but after a bit of a tank, Lundmark made the call.

They saw a {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop and Palacios now tanked up for a while before betting out 71,000. Another dwell-up from Lundmark, and then a shove for what looked like over 300,000.. Palacios shook his head and folded, and the EPT Barcelona champion picked up the chunky pot to put him up to around 530,000.

Barbosa Busted

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Joao Barbosa
Joao Barbosa

Joao Barbosa was down to just 40,000 or so when he went all in with {a-Spades}{10-Spades}. Aurelien Guiglini tanked for some time in the big blind before making the call with {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. It was a decision that worked out well for him - the board ran out {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} to eliminate the EPT Warsaw winner and put Guiglini up to 325,000.

Nightmair

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Alessandro Laubinger
Alessandro Laubinger

A huge pot was being played out between Hugo Lemaire and Alessandro Laubinger where the board was reading {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, Lemaire had checked the river and Laubinger bet a substantial 125,000 into what was already a pot of around 250,000.

The Frenchman looked apprehensive but slowly pushed out a call, Laubinger turned over {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for top set and Lemaire mucked, the German is now over the 1 million mark while his opponent is left short.
