The schedule for dinner has just been announced. The dinner break will occur right about 7:30 PM local time for half of the field and last an hour. That's after Level 5. The second half of the field will go on dinner break at 8:30 PM when the first half returns.
Action folded to Cristian Cirtog in the cutoff seat and he raised to 400. On the button was Sam Chartier and he reraised to 1,075. Imre Karpati called from the big blind and Cirtog folded.
The flop came down and Chartier fired 1,300 after Karpati checked. Karpati check-raised to 3,100 and Chartier folded.
There's no other EPT event on the schedule where people will bomb their whole stack into the pot during the first level or so. But we've already seen plenty of all-ins here so far, and we watched another one involving Vanessa Rousso just a moment ago.
We only walked up to the river where there was just over 5,000 chips in the pot and a board of out on the table. It looks like David Fernando had checked, and Vanessa Rousso had bet a single yellow T5,000 chip before we approached. What we did see was Fernando shove all in over the top of Rousso, and he had her well covered. Rousso was not at all pleased with the spot, and she spent the next several minutes chatting with herself aloud.
"Oh my god!" she began. "How is this possible? How do you have four fours?" We apparently missed a big hand where Rousso was quadded up earlier, and now she wondered, "Is it possible that in two levels, two people could make quads against me?!" Sinking in her chair, she continued, "I don't know how I can fold here."
She turned her attention to Fernando and talked with him for another couple minutes, but we couldn't make out much more of the conversation. We did hear her ask, "Will you show if I fold?" Fernando had been chatty and smiley with her initially, but he now sat with his chin resting in his hands, sitting dead still. He didn't respond, and Rousso apologized to the rest of the table for taking so long. "This is, like, the worst ever. This is, like, so bad!"
Finally, a few minutes later, she did fold. Fernando gave her exactly what she was looking for, flashing his to put her mind at ease. "Ohhhhh, thank you!" she said, patting the felt and stacking up the 14,400 chips she has left.
With approximately 10,000 chips already in the pot, the board was between Tommy Vedes and Erik Friberg. Friberg fired 6,000 at the pot and Vedes spent a few minutes in the tank. He tanked for so long that it drew the attention of David Williams from the table behind him. While Williams looked on closely, Vedes thought hard. Eventually, he folded and showed that he was laying down the for at least top pair.
If you’re going to bust, then bust with all guns blazing. It’s something you see a lot in Italy so Luca Cainelli was fitting in well to the style of his homeland.
Daniel Negreanu raised from early position and c-bet the flop. He was called both times by Andrea Finotti and Cainelli in the big blind. The turn fell to give a board and Negreanu fired another bullet valued at 3,100. Finotti called but Cainelli check-raised to 9,000. Both players called to the river.
Cainelli thought for a minute before moving all-in for around 23,000. Negreanu huffed and puffed before passing, but Finotti made the call with for a flush. Cainelli could only muster a losing . Finotti is clear chip leader on 79,000 chips now.
