Filling Up

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We've got a bit over 400 players registered for this Day 1b, probably closer to 420 at this point.

Registration is open until the start of Level 3.

Vinci's Check-Raise Gets Through Romanello and Stefanelli

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Roberto Romanello raised from middle position to 200. Bruno Stefanelli three-bet to 550 from the hijack seat. Pasquale Vinci called from the big blind and Romanello also called.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Vinci checked. Romanello also checked and then Stefanelli fired 925. Vinci check-raised to 2,100 and Romanello got out of the way. Stefanelli also folded and Vinci won the pot.

Bansi Finds a Pot

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Praz Bansi was down around 22,000 when we picked up a three-way pot on a {9-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} flop. Arvi "Copy-and-Paste" Vainionkulma checked out of positon, and Bansi made a continuation bet of 1,600. A third player in the hand ducked out, but Vainionkulma called to see the {3-Hearts} turn. Check-check, and the river came the {5-Hearts}. Vainionkulma looked like he was going to bet, and he stacked up 4,200 chips in front of him before eventually checking.

"I'm gonna bet 4,200," Bansi said, flicking an oversized chip into the pot. Vainionkulma quickly folded, and Bansi takes the pot to rebound back to about 25,000.

Making Moves Early

Both Ted Forrest and Chris McClung have chipped up very nicely here in the early goings. We caught the tail end of a pot involving Forrest where he was raking in the chips on a {5-}{3-}{2-}{6-}{J-} board with a set of deuces. He's up to 46,000 in chips.

McClung, who finished 31st at EPT London for £16,000, is also on the move and it up to a whopping 76,000 already -- more than two and a half times the starting stack.

Sabat Can't beat Top-Top

From middle position, Eddy Sabat raised to 400. His raise was called by Linus Dahlstrom in the cutoff seat and Miguel Estevez Penco in the big blind. The flop came down {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} and action checked to Sabat. He bet 625 and Dahlstrom folded. Estevez Penco called.

The turn was the {5-Spades} and Estevez Penco checked. Sabat opted to check behind and the river completed the board with the {3-Hearts}. Both players checked again.

Estevez Penco tabled the {A-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Sabat mucked.

Kerzhapkin Straight Flushed

We were just trying to place the face of Yury Kerzhapkin and as soon as we remembered who it was, he went broke.

All the money got in on the turn of a {5-Hearts} {A-Spades} {9-Clubs} {8-Hearts} board, and Kerzhapkin was working with {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}. Nick Yunis turned up the crushing {6-Hearts} {7-Hearts}, and Kerzhakpin needed to fill up to stay alive. And Yunis had blockers to make the {9-Hearts} invalid.

Kerzhapkin could not improve on the river, and in fact, the {4-Hearts} gave Yunis the other end of the straight flush. When the chips were counted down, Kerzhapkin was covered by just a few hundred, and his day is done early.

Tough Table

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Melanie Weisner has just joined Table 19, and that one looks to be the toughest table in the room to our eyes:

SeatPlayer
1Sorel Mizzi
2Pierpaolo Fabretti
4Christophe Benzimra
8Sandra Naujoks
10Melanie Weisner

The nine seat is empty over there, and we couldn't help our curiosity. We checked the registration list, and that vacant seat is set to be filled by the one and only Shaun Deeb at some point.
