A Pair of Hands

  • Six players were all staring at {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {7-Spades} after limping into the pot. The action checked to Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen and he bet 500 from the hijack and Jan Nordenbaek called on the button. The turn was the {10-Spades} and Jorgensen bet 1,500 and this time Nordenbaek allowed him to take the pot.
  • Isi Nadelmann raised to 500 in mid position, Johan Van Til three-bet to 1,500 one seat to his left before Eric Cortes four-bet to 3,400 in the cutoff. Both Nadelmann and Van Til called and the three of them shared a flop of {K-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}. The action checked over to Cortes and a 34,000 bet won the pot.

Snowmen Lift Petersen To 65,200 Chips!

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

From the hijack seat Jonas Molander opened the betting to 525 but he met some resistance from Marius Pospiech on the button, who three-bet to 1,450. The small blind folded but Mickey Petersen called from the big blind and when Molander called the dealer put out the {J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop.

Petersen checked, Molander checked behind but Pospiech tried his luck with a 1,300 bet. Petersen called but it was too much for Molander to call and his hand finished up in the muck. The turn gave was the {2-Hearts} and Petersen checked again and Popiech checked behind. The fifth and final community card was the {4-Hearts} and Petersen checked its arrival.

Popiech asked Petersen if he held pocket tens but the young Dane did not answer. Literally two seconds later Popiech checked. As he was the last aggressor Popiech had to show his hand, {10-Spades}{9-Spades} which lost to the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} of his young opponent.

"Maybe I should have bet three streets," said Popiech in a quizzicle manner.

"It may have worked," came the reply from the Team PokerStars Online Pro,

Jose Latorre Learns Perfect Strategy To Defend Against Tureniec

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Have you ever wondered how to defend your blinds effectively against the reigning EPT Copenhagen champion Michael Tureniec? Jose Latorre seems to have perfected the perfect strategy.

Tureniec opened to 700 on the button and Latorre was in the small blind. He checked his card and moved all in for 13,950. Tureniec did not want to pay this amount and he mucked his hand.

Raising for Information?

Theo Jorgensen
Theo Jorgensen

Theo Jorgensen must've lost some chips since we last laid eyes on him, but he just took down a pot to get back into profit on the day. He was heads-up to a {6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop with Jens Haenel and he bet 1,500 when the action was checked to him. Haenel went for the old check-raise maneuver, up to 3,500.

The Danish Team PokerStars Pro was checked to again on the {6-Clubs} turn and he responded by betting 4,000. Haenel fiddled with his chips for a while and then folded.

Blanner and Vandersmissen In Battle of The Blinds

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

The action folded all the way around to Soren Blanner in the small blind and he raised to 600. Kevin Vandersmissen rarely needs and excuse to play a hand and he made the call.

The all club {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop was checked by Blanner who then called when Vandersmissen bet 625. The {J-Spades} turn was checked by both players but when the {Q-Spades} landed on the river and Blanner checked, Vandersmissen took a stab at the pot and bet 1,550. Blanner was having none of it and called.

Blanner: {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Vandersmissen: {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
