Scotty Nguyen may be down to under 15k in chips, but he's still laughing, smiling and being as friendly at the table as ever.
Over the last orbit before the break, he spent his time folding and telling one tablemate how Vietnamese people use the same term for all-in as the French.
The word is "Tapis" and strangely enough, the English translation of the word is "Carpet."
Either way, it appears Nguyen will be "Tapis" before long.

The players are on their final 20-minute break of the day.
Bruno "Kool Shen" Lopes is up to 270,000 after picking off an Ari Engel bluff (albeit with a full house). Engel was left with 28,000, and if that wasn't bad enough he had to endure a "rub down" from a player that wasn't even in the hand.
The board read and Engel check-raised to 24,600 after the former rapper bet 8,800. Lopes called to the river where he snapped the American's 74,500 bet and tabled for a full house after Engel tapped the table in defeat. He then mucked.
Engel's head was down but it soon rose when he heard a mocking laughter coming from Etienne Moudaress
down the other end of the table. This obviously upset him more and he responded with, "Why are you laughing at me? This is not poker. Settle down and keep it to yourself."

Martins Adeniya's table broke and the removal men were called in to help him move his chips over to the other side of the room. He wasn't at his new table long before he battled, and was bluffed by Pierre Calamusa. We only got there on the river of a board where Adeniya was facing a 16,700 bet. He tank-folded and was shown by Calamusa.
Toby Lewis is having no such problems. His latest Tweet read: "Called off 15bb and 12bb reshove over my open with AQo. Both have AK guess... Loads of Q's left in the deck :) 380k #eptfrancais."

Ludovic Lacay may have lost some chips over the past half a level, but he certainly hasn't lost his aggressive nature.
He was just seen tossing in a stack of grey 5k chips in the middle on an board, which happened to be enough to cover his short-stacked heads-up opponent.
That opponent folded and before he had even finished stacking the chips from the pot, the maniacal Frenchman was at it again, making it 4k pre-flop and stealing the blinds and antes.

We overheard James Mitchell telling James Dempsey that he was in the big blind and attempted to raise thinking he was under the gun. He was stopped from doing so but got his move got enough respect that his table gave him a walk. All the chips help when you have 60,000.
Luca Pagano is having a frustrating day. He just laid a hand down on a board to Jean Yves Malherbe. The Italian called a 14,000 turn bet, but the 28,700 he faced on the river was too much for him to call.
We were informed earlier, and then reported, that Bruno "Kool Shen" Lopes was out. He's not and is still keeping it real with 150,000 chips.

Proving once again that owning the Day 1 chip lead in a major tournament guarantees you nothing more than a seat in Day 2, Amir Salhani was spotted with just 12k in front of him and most of his stack spread around the table.
He managed to double up with vs. soon after, but is still short and on life support.
