Bianchi Rivers a Full House

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With 2,200 already in the pot and {2-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {K-Hearts} on the board, the 2011 WSOP champ and Team PokerStars Pro Pius Heinz bet 1,100. His fellow countryman Rene Roseler folded while Russia's Mikhail Aleksandrov and Italy's Fabio Bianchi both called.

The turn card was {J-Clubs} and all three checked. The {2-Hearts} on the river was followed by a 2,700 bet from Bianchi. Heinz folded and Aleksandrov called. Bianchi showed {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} for a full house - jacks full of deuces and Aleksandrov mucked his hand.

Two Small Ones

  • France and Italy's best battled and France won the day.
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Dario Alioto had made it to the river of a {6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts} board. ElkY bet 6,675 into a pot that had swelled to 7,525. Alioto tank-folded.
  • Moments later on and adjacent table Ben Vinson was proving hard to shift on a {2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} board. He check-called a 1,025 bet on the flop before both players checked down the rest of the way. Vinson had got here with {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, beating out {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}.
Vinson's mate, Chris Sly, is at the same table and cruising on 50,000.

ElkY Exits

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier - Eliminated
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier - Eliminated

Action folded to Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier who raised to 400 from the hijack. Alfonso Donnarumma three-bet to 1,200 from the button and it folded back to ElkY who flat called.

The two saw a flop of {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades} fall and Grospellier led out for 1,775. Donnarumma quickly called and the {5-Clubs} paired the board on the turn. Grospellier kept up with aggression, pushing out a bet of 4,400. Donnarumma stuck around.

The {3-Hearts} fell on the river and turned out to be quite the action card. Grospellier bet 15,500. Donnarunna took one quick look back at his cards, heaved a breath and moved all of his chips in. ElkY shrugged and called, only to see Donnarumma turn over {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a full house.

Grospellier let out a laugh and showed {A-Hearts}{k-Hearts} for a rivered flush. Grospellier shipped all of his stack over to Donnarumma and quickly got up from the table. Donnarumma is now sitting on about 68,000 in chips.

Vitkind Takes Some Nachos

On a board that read {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, Jose "Nacho" Barbero checked to Dmitry Vitkind who fired 1,825. Barbero called to see the river pair the board with the {2-Spades}. Barbero checked his option again and Vitkind shot out 4,600. Barbero released and the pot was pushed the way of Vitkind.

Staszko vs. "The Magician"

Action folded to Team PokerStars Pro Martin Staszko in the hijack and he opened for 450. Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari defended from the big blind and the two saw a flop of {6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{9-Spades}, which both checked. When the dealer burned and turned the {4-Spades}, Esfandiari checked and then folded to a bet of 500 from Staszko.

It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their counts.

Tureniec Bossing

Michael Tureniec doesn't know when to slow down, whatever stage the tournament is at. He just enjoys trying to boss tables too much. Sometimes this results in an early exit, other times, like today, he quickly builds up big stacks.

He was in late position and battling heads up Sergio Galliano in the small blind. Around 5,000 chips had made it into the middle and both players checked the turn to leave a {9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} board.

Galliano snap-bet 2,825 and his Swedish opponent called with {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for trips. His {9-Spades}{8-Spades} was no good that time.

Mind What You Say

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

The last hand at Liv Boeree, Roberto Romanello and Ruper Elder's table involved some controversy between the player and the dealer. It all started with Gianluca Mattia raising pre-flop to 450 and then Matthew Keikoan re-raising to 1,325. The rest have folded and Mattia called.

The flop brought {2-Spades} {7-Spades} {5-Clubs} and Keikoan bet 1,500 to which Mattia answered with a call. The {8-Spades} on the turn was followed by a check-check and Keikoan tossed in one blue t5,000 chip announcing a bet. The dealer asked if it was a 2,500 bet, but Keikoan seemed too busy listening to whatever was coming out of his earphones and made no comment.

Mattia called putting in the exact amount of 2,500, while Keikoan expected a thousand more. The dealer called the floor and eventually the tournament director to sort things out. The director claimed that it was Keikoan's fault for not correcting the dealer when he announced the bet and therefore Mattia's call was good.

If the director had ruled Keikoan's way, he would have collected 1,000 chips more as he showed {A-Clubs} {8-Hearts} making his opponent muck the hand.
