Flushy Finally Out of the Starting Blocks

James Dempsey
James Dempsey

James 'Flushy' Dempsey complains that he never gets a good start at EPT's and is due 'a lot of hands.' It's not gone particularly well for him here so far today but he's just won his first significant pot. Dempsey fired out 2,200 on the turn of a {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds} board against Kpayc Ahtoh and the latter made the call to see the {K-Hearts} river.

Now Dempsey quickly bet 5,500 but this time Ahtoh mucked his hand in rapid time.

Cserei Adds To Stack

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Roberto Romanello had opened from middle position and his only caller was Ramon Demon Cserei in the big blind, who was busy polishing off a sandwich. The flop read {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, Cserei checked, Romanello bet 500, Cserei took a final bite and made the call. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and both players checked, which is exactly what they did on the arrival of the {7-Diamonds} river.

Romanello flashed {A-}{Q-} and after he wiped the crumbs from his face Cserei showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} which was enough to win the pot.

Jorgensen Eliminated

Theo Jorgensen
Theo Jorgensen

Dario Nittolo raised to 450 from UTG and received four callers before Theo Jorgensen squeezed, moving all in for around 5,500 from the big blind. Nittolo reraised to 10,450 and the first caller folded but surprisingly, the second caller, Anton Ionel flat-called this raise for protection while the remaining players also folded.

The flop was {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Nittolo check-folded to a 10,000 bet from his opponent, Jorgensen turned over {K-Spades}{J-Hearts} but nodded in resignation when Ionel flipped {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. The {6-Hearts} offered the Dane the merest possibility of a chop pot but the {8-Diamonds} slammed that door firmly shut in his face.

The below players have emerged from the shadows into our consciousnesses and will be tracked from here on in.

Mads Wissing went made the final table at EPT Prague this season and also went deep in Copenhagen. He just showed Nick Younis what being about of position to means to him as well. Younis led for 1,200 on a {3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop but folded when the Dane raised in the seat behind him.

Simple Three-Bet Wins Pot For Linde

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

From the UTG+1 seat Luca Cavecchi opened the betting with a raise to 550. The action folded around to Per Linde on the button and the Swede, who is having a his back vigorously massaged, glanced at both of the blinds and the original raiser before reaching for chips and three-betting to 2,600. Both blinds quickly folded, as did Cavecchi and Linde can get back to enjoying his massage.

Neuville Down To Nil

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Pierre Neuville: Busted
Pierre Neuville: Busted

We have lost Team PokerStars Pro Pierre Neuville during the last level and he will not be repeating his heroics from Copenhagen here in Campione.

Our friends over on the Dutch PokerNews blog informed us Neuville lost a substantial pot whilst holding pocket queens before raising preflop and receiving two callers. He then lead out on a {J-}{6-}{8-} flop and both opponents called. He bet again when a {7-} peeled off on the turn and both opponents called. The river was another seven and Neuville kept his foot on the gas and bet. One player folded but the other put him all in for just over 5,000 more.

Neuville turned over {A-}{J-} but was busted out as his now sole opponent showed {J-}{7-}.

Santaneillo Wins Family Pot

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Vittorio Santaneillo made the unconventional play of open limping from under the gun and after one player folded Casey Kastle limped in too. Cristian Drogomir limped in too from the button and both Francesco Nitale and Marco Della Tommasina called in the small blind and big blind respectively.

Flop: {6-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades} - Nobody wanted to take a stab at the pot and they all checked.

Turn: {K-Diamonds} - Both blinds tapped the table and checked and now Santaneillo bet 750 and only Kastle stuck along for the rider.

River: {8-Diamonds} - Santaneillo bet again, this time betting 1,250 which forces an insta-fold from Kastle.
