The lasted EPT champion to fall was Benny Spindler. He moved all-in from early position with and was looked up by Mario Picheler. The latter had him dominated with and the German failed to find a two-outer to survive.
Arnaud Mattern, Faraz Jaka, and Vadzim Kursevich have all been eliminated holding ace-king.
Jaka's day to forget continued when he ran ace-king into an opponent's pocket sevens. He was looking for party bracelets in the press room afterwards. A few stiff drinks later to blow off steam.
Mattern three-bet all-in with ace-king only for Claudio Pollin to wake up with pocket jacks behind. He isolated and managed to avoid an ace and a king to bus the Team PokerStars Pro.
EPT Deauville winner Vadzim Kursevich ran ace-king into ace-king and lost out to his opponent's flush.
Liv Boeree will not be pushed around, especially when she has chips invested in the pot, as Antonin Tesseire has just found out.
The latter saw the action fold around to him on the button and he min-raised to 1,600. Boeree was next to act and she first took back her original bet before replacing those chips with four red 1,000 chips. David Vamplew and Marion Nedellec folded their blinds but Tesseire made the call.
The dealer spread out the flop and Boeree paused briefly before setting the price to play at 5,100. This was too much for Tesseire to pay and he instantly folded his holding.
We believe the former EPT Berlin champion Kevin MacPhee has been eliminated. He was seated in Seat 1 on Table 22 but there is now an empty chair and no chips in front of that spot. We will do some digging and try to find out what happened to him.
Ondrej Vinklarek is currently leading the Player of the Year race and he's just been given a lifeline in this tournament, all in preflop with against Faraz Jaka's he somehow got there with a card to spare on board. Jaka sees his stack cut in half.
Although we have already lost 12 players since the restart a few of the tables, particularly those with the so-called "big names" on them are playing much more conservatively.
On our rounds of the tournament area we saw the action fold around the Team PokerStars pro Liv Boeree on the button and the former EPT San Remo min-raised to 1,600. But she received no further action as both blinds folded. The very next hand Fabrizio Baldassari opened to 1,600 from UTG+1 and just as Miss Boeree had done just moments before, he picked up the blinds and antes.
Then over on a different table the action folded all the way around to Todd Terry in the small blind and he opted to complete rather than raise into Chris "Moorman1" Moorman. The Brit tapped the table to check and the pair shared a flop reading . Terry verbally announced "900" but as he was reaching to put the chips into the pot Moorman folded.
That is the end of the tournament for Simon Persson, Team PokerStars Pro Matthias De Meulder had fired out 5,800 on the turn of a board before Persson made it 15,800 behind him.
The Belgian thought for about a minute or two before moving all in and Persson called off the rest of his stack turning over but De Meulder had pinged his gutshot with which held on the river for an six-figure pot.
Great start for Roberto Romanello after he managed a quick double up.
He was heads up with Sebastian Veghinas to a flop. The Romanian check-raised Romanello's 11,000 bet all-in, and the Welshman called off for 39,200 with .
Veghinas opened and stayed behind through the turn and river.
I was stood by Craig McCorkell's table when Toby Lewis meandered up, dragging his heals. He looked at his horse and said, "I can't believe I busted before you!" This was more of an observation of stack sizes rather than a comparison of ability.
Lewis four-bet shoved with and it did not work out well for him.
As you would expect with such a talented field of poker players, Day 2 of EPT Campione has thrown up a number of interesting match-ups around the room.
Over on one table we have two former EPT champions seated directly next to each other, David Vamplew having position on Liv Boeree whilst Boeree's other half Kevin MacPhee has to share a table with Tobias Reinkemeier and Melanie Weisner.
Plus at the far end of the room we have Bryn Kenney, Heinz Kamutzki and Team PokerStars Pro Arnaud Mattern all sat together. There should be fireworks!
