Some of the higher numbered tables have been broken down and that has lead to some juicy tables being formed elsewhere.
On one we have Arnaurd Mattern, Wayne Bentley, Martins Adeniya and Fabrice Soulier whilst just across from them is Jonathan Duhamel, Marko Neumann, Todd Terry, Tom Macdonald and Matan Krakow.
We will keep a look out for other pro-laden tables whilst we scoure the tournament floor for hands of note.
Faced with a 4,000-chip bet from Konstantin Puchkov on a board of , Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov went into the tank. Eventually, he committed the four red T1,000 chips needed to make the call.
Puchkov turned over for a full house, and Katchalov instantly mucked his hand.
Tobias Ekman, Pim de Goede, and Malte Monning were three-handed with the board reading . Ekman checked, Goede tossed out 4,500, and Monning called. Ekman committed the chips as well. and the completed the board.
Ekman checked, Goede checked as well, and after a moment for thought, Monning rapped the table.
Goede turned over for two pair, but he was beat by Monning's [jsjsc] for a set of jacks.
"What a bad river for you," Goede told Monning, who nodded.
Despite missing a bit of value due to the coordinated board, Monning still chipped up to 60,000.
Stefan Vagner's tournament has come to an abrupt end after he ran into the overpair of Margat Begenov.
We were drawn to Table 23 by the cry of "all-in and call" and when we arrived at the action we discovered Vagner sat with in front of him and Begenov with the much better on show.
Vagner needed some help from the deck, but it failed to arrive as the community cards fell and the Slovakian was eliminated.
Late last month, Quebecer Jonathan Roy conquered a 1,173-player field in the World Poker Tour Montreal to win $755,601. With cash in his pocket and momentum on his side, Roy has crossed the Atlantic to take his shot at EPT glory.
We recently spent an entire orbit with Roy, who has been spotted chatting with his friends Jonathan Duhamel and Marc-Andre Ladouceur throughout the day.
Hand #1 (HJ): With 900 in the pot and a flop of , Stephen Chidwick checked from the big blind and then called when Roy bet 500 from the hijack. When the dealer burned and turned the , Chidwick ended up check-folding to a bet of 1,100 from Roy.
Hand #2: A player in middle position and Roy folded.
Hand #3: Action folded around to Roy and he followed suit.
Hand #4 (UTG+1): Roy simply folded.
Hand #5 (UTG): Roy was under the gun and first to act. He folded.
Hand #6 (BB): Stephen Chidwick raised to 525 from middle position, another player called, and Roy folded his big blind.
Hand #7 (SB): Action folded around to the player on the button and he opened for 450, which prompted Roy to fold his small blind.
Hand #8 (button): A player in middle position opened for 575 and Roy folded the button.
Hand #9 (CO): Action folded around to Roy in the cutoff and he did the same.
Unfortunately it was an unexciting orbit with Roy, but it does go to show you he's more than content to play a patient game. To learn more about Roy, check out the recent interview he did with PokerNews.
While perusing around the room, we noticed that Mr. Jose Manuel Nadal Sordo has already crossed the century mark. The Mexican, who eliminated Antonin Duda earlier on, has chipped up to 105,000.
Igor Kutsevol has just doubled up through Georgia's Kakhaber Japaridze after winning a coinflip over on Table 33. A preflop raising war broke out between Kutsevol and Japaridze that resulted in the former being all in for 10,450 chips in total and at risk of elimination.
Kustevol:
Japaridze:
After burning a card, the dealer put out the flop, which kept Japaridze in front, but gifted Kutsevol a whole host of outs to the nut heart flush. He did not need those flush out though, because the fell on the turn to propel him into the lead. The unnecessarily improved Kustevol to two pair and he doubled up past 20,000.
Kimmo Kurko found a dream river versus Stefanos Matrozos to see his stack rise to 37,000.
The two players were heads up to the turn of a board where Matrozos led for 1,125. Call.
Matrozos led for 2525 on the river and called when the Finn raised to 7,550. Kurko opened for the nuts. The unlucky Matrozos opened for a rivered straight.
Table 22 is the place to be if you want to catch a glimpse of a Team PokerStars Pro in action because there are three of them seated there!
Toni Judet has been seated to the direct right of fellow Team Pro Eugene Katchalov and they have been joined by former EPT San Remo champion Liv Boeree.
We're unsure of the details, but Guillaume Darcourt has been eliminated. He was just seen speaking with a fellow Frenchman before shrugging his shoulders and heading towards the exit.
No matter what language you speak, the half-hearted shrug after a hand history usually signifies an elimination.
