The Old Two Outer On The River

Grzegorz Wyraz found himself all in preflop for his last 53,000 holding {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and in bad shape against an unknown opponent's {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}. The {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{J-Spades} flop was no help to Wyraz, and the {7-Clubs} turn brought him one step closer to elimination.

Just as Wyraz stood from his seat and prepared to exit, the {9-Hearts} spiked on the river to extend his tournament life.

A Mansour End

Andrey Gulyy opened to 6,000 in middle position, Emeric Styevlik three-bet to 12,000 on his direct left, and Ramzi Jelassi called in the hijack seat.

Souheil Mansour moved all in for around 60,000 from the small blind, Gulyy quickly folded, and Styevlik re-shoved for around 180,000 total. Jelassi tanked for 20 seconds or so, then folded.

Mansour: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Styevlik: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{q-Clubs}{a-Hearts}, and Mansour was eliminated.

"I should've called," Jelassi said after the hand. "I had the nuts."

"Good fold," Styevlik said, smiling.

Ladouceur Four-Bet Folds

ElkY and Marc-Andre Ladouceur
ElkY and Marc-Andre Ladouceur

The action passed around to Marc-Andre Ladouceur in the cutoff and he opened with a raise. The button folded, but John Taramas three-bet to 15,200. With the action back on him, Ladouceur four-bet to 26,300. Taramas went into the tank for close to a minute before five-betting to 42,000 — leaving himself around 80,000 behind.

Ladouceur had received enough information at this point and he gave up on the hand.

Position Pays for Espina

Sergio Aido Espina battled in a four-bet pot with Nicholas Galtos and got the better of him, utilising his position to great effect (or so it seemed from the rail.)

Galtos opened to 6,100 and four-bet to 35,200 all from the cut-off. Espina was on the button and three-bet to 15,500 and called the four-bet to see a {10-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop appear.

Galton continued for 27,800. Call. The turn fell as {8-Clubs} and Galtos checked to face a 19,600 bet form Espina. He acted disgruntled and folded.

One for the Dutchies

We're doing our best to find a Vincent van der Fluit hand for our Dutch readers. This task has been harder than hoped this tournament. It's almost like he's hiding from us! The best we can do, for now, is a squeeze play.

There was an under the gun open to 6,500 and a flat call from Eddie Tasbas in late position. Van Der Fluit was in the small blind and three-bet to 19,600. It did the job as both players folded.
