Lovgren Avoids a Gruissem Fate

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Sofia Lövgren
Sofia Lövgren

A big double up just occurred on the feature table for Sofia Lovgren. She had managed to get all in preflop with {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} against Philipp Gruissem's {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

The board came a safe-looking {Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and she doubled up to 460,000 while Gruissem was reduced to a still huge 600,000.

Behbehani Eliminated

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Salman Behbehani
Salman Behbehani

Frederik Jensen made it 12,000 preflop and Salman Behbehani moved in for 12,500 on the button.

"How much is that?" asked Jason Lavallee, clearly making the most of the needle.

Lavallee called, as did Jensen.

Both players checked the {9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop before Lavallee check-folded to a small bet from Jensen on the {2-Diamonds}.

Behbehani, "I've got the Jimmy Chang!"

Jensen, "I don't know what that is."

Behbehani turned over {A-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Jensen turned over the {8-Diamonds}....then the {K-Diamonds} for a flush - the former was drawing dead before the {6-Spades} was put on the river.

Behbehani shook hands with his table and hugged Jensen before heading to the rail.

A Chip and a Chair for Behbehani

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to David "Bakes" Baker in the hijack and he put in a raise. Salman Behbehani, who was in the cutoff, then three-bet to 34,000. Action folded back to Baker and he promptly four-bet to 62,000. Behbehani then five-bet all in and Baker snap-called off for 178,500.

Behbehani: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Baker: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Behbehani looked sick and with good reason as he was left with less than 20,000 after the hand. Not long after, Behbehani was in the big blind when Mark Radoja raised to 12,500 from the under-the-gun position. Behbehani opted to just call (leaving himself just 3,500) behind, and then check-folded to a bet on the {3-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

On the very next hand, Behbehani was all in from the small blind and Baker isolated from the button. Baker tabled the {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Behbehani rolled over the {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. "That was the only hand I was worried about," Baker joked. The entire table, Behbehani included, got a good laugh and watched the board run out {k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

Behbehani more than doubled but is still extremely short.

Volpe Vanquished

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We arrived at the table just in time to find Paul Volpe all in for his last 70,00 or so on a {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. He held a decent hand with the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, but unfortunately for him it was no good as Jason Lavallee had tabled the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}.

The turn was paint, but the {Q-Diamonds} was not the picture card Volpe needed. His tournament life hinged on the river, which came down the {9-Clubs}. Volpe missed, grabbed his bag, and made a beeline for the exit after wishing the table good luck.

Behbehani Gets Slowrolled

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Frederik Jensen
Frederik Jensen

There's been a lot of talk about Salman Behbehani's slowroll yesterday - most of it friendly joshing. However Behbehani just got slowrolled himself.

Frederik Jensen had opened to 12,000 and Behbehani moved all in from the small blind. Jensen tanked for a few minutes, talking to himself and eventually calling the clock on himself.

The floor came over and gave Jensen the one minute warning. After the floor told Jensen he had just 15 seconds left, the Dane said, "Ok I call," and turned over {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}! The whole table burst out laughing including Behbehani who added, "I knew you were slowrolling me when you started talking to yourself." He turned over {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

The board came {2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{K-Clubs} as Jensen faded a pretty nasty looking turn to double up.

"Nice hand," said Behbehani, "mediocre slowroll."

Tony in Bloom

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

On the feature table Tony Bloom was all in with {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} against Sofia Lovgren's {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. The flop was {5-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} which looked nicer for Bloom's hand than Lovgren's. The {2-Spades} turn and {A-Diamonds} river changed nothing and Bloom doubled up into six figures.

Max Effect

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Max Greenwood has recovered from losing that big pot to Mark Teltscher in the best way possible - by doubling up.

Greenwood shoved for his last 56,500 on the river of a {4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{K-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} board against Ariel Celestino with 100,000 already in the middle. Celestino made the call after two minutes of thinking but Greenwood flipped {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and Celestino laughed saying, "nice hand," before paying the man his money.

Mizzi Doubles Through ElkY

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

On a {Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} board, Shawn Buchanan fired out a bet of 12,500. Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand Grospellier made the call and then Sorel Mizzi made the overcall to see the {6-Clubs} on the turn.

Buchanan checked, Grospellier bet 28,500 and Mizzi made the call, Buchanan folding.

The river was the {3-Clubs} and Grospellier eyed up Mizzi's stack before setting the Canadian all in. Mizzi instantly called.

Grospellier: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Mizzi: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Mizzi's spike of a two-outer on the turn had won him a huge 300,000 chip pot.
