Sick Turn, Sicker River

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Fresh off of a preflop war, Sebastian Trisch opened to 1,100 in middle position. Maksim Lavrov three-bet to 3,000 two spots to Trisch's left, and the action folded back to Trisch, who four-bet to 5,300. Lavrov tanked for the better part of 90 seconds before five-betting to 9,100, and Trisch made the call.

The dealer fanned {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, Trisch checked, and Lavrov continued for 11,000. Trisch check-shoved for roughly 25,000, and Lavrov made the call.

Trisch: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Lavrov: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Lavrov sighed at the sight of Trisch's aces, but the {j-Spades} turned, giving the Ukrainian a leading set of jacks. It was Trisch's turn to pout, but instead he flashed a smile and reached for chips to send to Lavrov.

There was no need for Trisch to send chips to anyone, however, because the {a-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give him a set of aces. Lavrov threw his hands on his head in disbelief, then slowly gather his things and exited.

Trisch raked in the 70,000-chip pot, and now sits with around 95,000.
