Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

The players are now on their first 20-minute break of the day. We're around 20 spots from the money.

Abdellatif Splits

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

On an {8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop we just saw Jonathan Adbellatif check under the gun to Ludovic Geilich in middle position. The man from the UK bet 13,600 and Abdellatif raised it up to 30,200. Geilich made the call and the {J-Diamonds} hit the turn. Abdellatif bet another 38,200 and, with a stack of around 160,000 total, Geilich made the call. The {9-Hearts} completed the board and Abdellatif checked. Geilich announced to be all in and Abdellatif made the call.

Geilich quickly showed {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} but wasn't winning. Abdellatif tabled {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and they both got equal shares of the pot back from the dealer.

23 Players Remain in the Skrill Last Longer

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

There are still 23 players active in the Skrill Last Longer. The player with a Skrill patch lasting the longest in this tournament gets a crispy €5,300 in his or hers account. All of the but Dario Sammartino have some cathing up to do though, the Italian player is not only leading the Skrill Last Longer competition but also the EPT Main Event itself:

Johnson Busts

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

There were two Johnson's in the field at the start of play - Mitch and Keith- but sadly the former has just busted out and was kind enough to tell us how: "I opened with A-Q and a guy peeled. I check-raised the Q-10-5 flop and jammed the 8 turn and he had J-9."

To the River with De Benedittis

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Carlo De Benedittis moved all in for his last 20,000 and was looked up by the big blind, PokerStars player Paul Berende who flipped over {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. De Benedittis had {a-Clubs}{5-Spades} and so was marginally ahead. Not for long though as the flop came {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. De Benedittis would need some help and the turn {3-Clubs} and river {7-Diamonds} duly delivered an improbable straight. De Benedittis gave a little “Yes.” Relieved to have survived.

Abdellatif Breaks the 400,000 Barrier

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Jonathan Abdellatif
Jonathan Abdellatif

Jonathan Abdellatif started the day fifth in chips with 351,700 and he's continued where he left of yesterday, namely upwards. He and Kamel Boukhalfa are having a running battle and they just played two pots in a row.

In the first Abdellatif opened to 6,000 and called after Boukhalfa three-bet to 17,000 from the big blind. On the {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop Boukhalfa checked, Abdellatif bet 19,300 and a frustrated Boukhalfa uncapped his cards before peaking at them and folding.

One hand later Abdellatif was first in again, he raised to 6,000 and this time Boukhalfa elected to smooth call from the small blind. The {6-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop was checked through and the {9-Diamonds} hit the turn. First to act Boukhalfa fired out a bet of 6,000 and it was good enough to take the pot.

Despite that small dent Abdellatif is up to roughly 429,000.

Manji: “Donkey play by you.”

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Ayaz Manji opened for 7,100 under-the gun and was three-bet by the player to his left, Jeffrey Hakim, to 22,200. Everyone else folded and Manji asked to see how much he had behind which was about 30,000. Manji gave it a bit of a dwell up and folded. He then started giving a speech about how he folded {A-}{Q-} and that it was: “Well played by me, donkey play by you.” Promising that next time he would call him. Hakim took it in good spirits though and it was hugs all round.

Kelly Knocks Out van Leeuwen

Niels Van Leeuwen
Niels Van Leeuwen

A big coinflip just went the way of two-time bracelet winner JP Kelly. The Englishman's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} beat Niels van Leeuwen's {A-}{K-} on a {3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} board for a huge pot worth around 175,000.

Van Leeuwen wasn't too sad, he had already won the FPS Main Event for around €175,000 early this week.
