Mestre Messing Up

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Well, that's a little bit too tough a title, but it just sounds so good.

He has been raising it up a lot, but he hasn't really gotten away with it. Time and time again people shove, three-bet or take the pot away from him in any other way. Just now Andrija Martic three-bet, and five-bet shoved when the Spanish player four-bet. Mestre had to fold once again.

Just now he was involved in a rather big pot with Goeller. The Italian player made trips aces and bet out over half pot on a {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} board. Mestre called and both players checked the {6-Clubs} on the river. Goeller showed {A-Hearts}{9-Spades} and took it down.

Nuutinen Doubles

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Andrea Benelli opened for 60,000 and Jorma Nuutinen moved all in for 349,000. It would represent a decent portion of Benelli’s stack but he made the call.

Nuutinen had {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and had been looked up by the {j-Spades}{j-Spades} of Benelli.

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Nuutinen survived to double up.

Ariel Celestino

The very next hand Andrea Benelli opened for 60,000 and now it was Ariel Celestino who moved all in for 489,000. Again Benelli made the call to put a player at risk.

Celestino: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Benelli: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The cards {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} duly delivered the ace to send Celestino out of the tournament.

Fabrice Soulier does EPT Sanremo hit-and-run to take down the Triple Draw event (photo: PokerStars)

Fabrice Soulier came to Sanremo for one reason – and one reason only: to enter (and win) the €900 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw event. Soulier and his girlfriend Claire are about to have their first child, so the French pro, who won the €10k High Roller at our last stop in Vienna, doesn’t have time to waste on anything longer than a one-evening tourney. “I’m just here for the Triple Draw”, he said last night, before winning the event for €5,680. He beat a 13 people strong field.

Big Bad Beat for Berglund

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Emmanuel Pariset open shoved for 515,000 from the button. The small blind folded, Lukas Berglund made the snap call from the big blind.

Lukas Berglund: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Emmanuel Pariset: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The flop gave Pariset a gut shot: {J-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. After the {5-Diamonds} hit the turn, Pariset had just the queens and tens working for him. He would find one: {Q-Clubs}. Berglund is now severely short stacked.

Lukas Berglund Eliminated in 11th Place (€34,480)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Lukas Berglund
Lukas Berglund

Lukas Berglund first shoved small to big, and Andrija Martic folded. Not much later he shoved all in again, this time for 240,000 from the cutoff. Small blind Vicky Coren-Mitchell reshoved for 510,000, the big blind folded.

Lukas Berglund: {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Vicky Coren-Mitchell: {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The flop was a good one for Berglund with {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs}. The {A-Diamonds} on the turn however wasn't pretty to see for the former chip leader. The {2-Hearts} on the river was a blank and that was it for Berglund.

Victoria Coren M.I just knocked a player out, so we're down to 10 and I'm up to 950k in chips (average 1.6m). Eight players will make the final.
