Schulz Avoids Disaster Against Founder of EPT

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

With approximately 6,000 in the pot and a board reading {8-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{8-Spades}, John Duthie, the founder of the EPT, checked from the big blind and then called a bet of 3,000 from PCA champ Kevin Schulz, who was sitting in the under-the-gun position.

When the {J-Hearts} double paired the board on the river, action went check-check and Duthie showed the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Schulz smiled and flashed the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, knowing full well he could have lost a lot more had the board ran out different.
