Nevanlinna Doubles Through Ekvardt

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

In a battle of Scandinavia, Emil Ekvardt had Jussi Nevanlinna all in and at risk for what looked like 64,000 preflop and showed the {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Nevanlinna out his tournament life at risk with the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and was ready to leave after the flop came {7-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. However, the {9-Hearts} appeared on the turn and the {J-Hearts} river was already meaningless.

The Rise of the Vladimirs

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Vladimir Troyanovskiy has started well into Day 2 and already increased his stack significantly. Another Vladimir, fellow Russian too, with the last name of Dobrovolskiy also more than doubled up and has been responsible for the seat open of Armen Khachatryan.

Just now, Dobrovolskiy raised to 5,500 from under the gun and was called by Paul Newey in the big blind. The Brit checked the flop {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and then quickly let go when facing a continuation bet.

Slowing Down Eventually

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

There aren't as many all in situations anymore, only Yingui Li has been eliminated recently.

Jason Mercier raised to 4,800 and then folded to the shove of Byron Kaverman for another 25,000 on top while Mikita Badziakouski won a small pot with {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades} on the board {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Table neighbor Sylvain Loosli had paid off the thin valuebet of the Belorussian.

Haxton Jams on Stammen

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Keven Stammen raised to 5,000 and then called the three-bet of Isaac Haxton from the button for 14,100. On the flop {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Stammen checked and called a continuation bet worth 8,500. Both players checked the {10-Spades} on the turn before the {K-Diamonds} fell on the river. Smith Recovers; Busts Smain

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Piotr Franczak, Thomas Muehloecker and Mamouni Smain are the latest additions to the bustout list. Smain fell in a coin flip against Dan Smith after four-bet jamming around 67,000 chips with pocket tens. Smith had three-bet and eventually called with the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} to find the {Q-Spades} and the {A-Clubs} on the flop.

Haxton Rises

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

Team PokerStars Pro Isaac Haxton is off to a fast start here today.

He made it 6,000 on the button and after getting a call from Mikalai Vaskaboinikau in the small blind, Haxton sat up and looked across the table at his stack. Vaskaboinikau checked the {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop and folded when Haxton continued for 8,000.

Ever the active one, Haxton called a Vaskaboinikau raise a few hands later.

"I know it's jacks or better," Haxton said. "But I'm going to try to catch up anyway."

Apparently he didn't, because Haxton folded to a continuation bet on the flop, taking some 150,000 in chips with him on to the next hand.

No Love For The Ladies

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

Dan Smith made it 5,500 under the gun plus one and Ben Heath three-bet, making it 16,000 from one seat over.

Smith called, then checked the {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop. Heath fired out a bet of 18,500 and after Smith called again, they both checked the {j-Spades} turn. The {10-Spades} turned up on the river and Smith cut out betting ships, eventually dropping in 44,500 of them.

Heath called quickly and when Smith showed two queens, he turned over two aces to drag the pot.

Rettenmaier and Sidhu Double

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

EPT12 Barcelona High Roller runner up Kuljinder Sidhu bought in today and immediately lost a big portion of his stack in two hands before getting it in with {K-Spades}{10-Spades} against the {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} of Emil Ekvardt. The board ran out {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and the two pair won the pot for the Brit.
