Lhote Takes Big from Philippovich

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Joffrey Lhote started the action with a raise to 2,200 and Georgy Philippovich called on the button.

The flop appeared {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Lhote continued for 3,600, called again by Philippovich. The same action happened on the {9-Hearts} turn, this time for 7,600.

A {q-Spades} completed the board on the river and Lhote tossed a pile of chips in front of him for a bet around 53,000, putting Philippovich at risk for his last 19,000. The latter went deep into the tank and eventually mucked his cards.

Lhote tabled a {6-Hearts} for trips and Patrick Bruel, next to him, told he was holding the {6-Spades}. Lhote replied his other card was the {a-Hearts} while racking up the big pot. .

Kanit Stealing the Show

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Mustapha Kanit
Mustapha Kanit

Showman Mustapha Kanit was seen clapping and dancing when the confetti sprayed over the new platinum pass winners and he is all smiles at the table. He has a reason for it as well since he won three pots in a row.

Simeon Naydenov raised from early position to 2,500 and Mustapha Kanit three-bet from the small blind when it folded to him. He put 9,300 in the middle and that was enough to make Naydenov fold.

The next hand saw Ema Zajmovic open the action with a raise of 2,200 from the cutoff and Kanit three-bet again. He sized it 6,000 this time and Zajmovic folded.

The third hand in a row that was won by Kanit saw him raise to 2,200 and that won him the pot after the button and both blinds folded.

First Five Platinum Pass Winners Confirmed

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Daryl Inglis - Clement Eloy - Adrian Garcia - Danielle Summer - Christoph Walkenhorst
Daryl Inglis - Clement Eloy - Adrian Garcia - Danielle Summer - Christoph Walkenhorst

As mentioned before, the winner of the "Chase your Dream" promotion would be taking home €10,000 and the first Platinum Pass for the 2020 PSPC in Barcelona. After Adrian Garcia and Clement Eloy played their heads-up, Eloy came out victorious.

But to the surprise of them all, the other three finalists, Danielle Summer, Christoph Walkenhorst, and Daryl Inglis were called upon the stage too and together with Garcia were presented with a Platinum Pass of their own.

So these are the first five players to receive their entry to the PSPC in Barcelona which will take place in Barcelona in August 2020.

Ten Cate Makes Kurko Fold

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Kimmo Kurko raised from middle position to 1,700 and he was three-bet by Jonas ten Cate from the cutoff to 4,800. He was called by Kurko and they went heads-up to the flop.

The flop was dealt {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Kurko checked. Ten Cate continued with a bet of half the size of his preflop bet as he put 2,400 in the middle. Kurko folded and Ten Cate picked up the pot right before the dinner break started.

Bruel's Swan Song

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

In a blind-on-blind confrontation, Patrick Bruel, famous for French classics such as Casser La Voix, called all in for his last 15,800 after Lauri Varonen had shoved from the small blind.

Patrick Bruel: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Lauri Varonen: {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop was a disaster to Bruel, and neither the {2-Spades} turn nor {3-Spades} river could turn it around for him, ending his Main Event on the spot.
