Day 2 of the EPT National Will Get Underway at Midday

Poker Room
Poker Room

In the past two days, 721 runners in three starting flights have entered the National tournament. Of those, 108 have made it through. Day 1c that took place yesterday had the biggest field, so it's no surprise that the biggest stacks overall were produced in that flight.

The reigning champion Matous Houzvicek will start in the lead after he amassed a whopping 694,000 by the time the bubble burst after 10 minutes of Level 18. He is certainly the man to catch but some players are in a better position to do so, namely Daniil Kiselev (664,000), Aidyn Kanabekov (601,000) and Sarkis Karabadzhakyan (595,000).

Mikhail Shalamov

PokerStars Team Online's Mikhail Shalamov (184,000) is still in, as is Kiryl Radzivonau (68,000) and Aleksandr Denisov (287,000), who all bring a wealth of experience with them. There were also strong performances from Andrey Lukyanov (544,000), who finished as chip leader in Day 1a and Andrey Chernokoz and Yaniv Peretz who shared the lead on Day 1b, ensuring that there will be plenty of talent on display tomorrow.

Players will return to Casino Sochi at midday tomorrow and they will play down to the final table. Levels increase to 60 minutes and there will be 20-minute breaks at the end of every two levels. There will also be a one-hour dinner break and the time of that will be confirmed tomorrow.

Join PokerNews.com then for full coverage from the moment cards are in the air, until we reach the final table.
