Chen Chipping Up

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Pete Chen
Pete Chen

Pete Chen has been busy, doubling his stack in the last two levels. His most recent chips came in a pot involving Anatoliy Zyrin and Vladimir Gordienko. Chen took it down after barreling on a {3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} board. Zyrin folded the flop and Gordienko passed on the turn, adding more to Chen's stack.

Vezhenkov Going Strong After Eliminating Sakavichyus

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

All the community cards were down and Artem Vezhenkov, with the board reading {6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Artem Vezhenkov had bet enough to set German Sakavichyus all in and when he called, Vezhenkov turned over the nuts with {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Sakavichyus's {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} was no good. Vezhenkov has had a great day so far and is comfortably above the 100,000 mark now.

Gao Bets All Streets

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Following her unfortunate bust out earlier, Wenling Gao is back in the thick of it and she is faring much better second time around.

On her table, Igor Astashkin opened to 1,600 and Wenling called on his left. Amir Oganyan defended the big blind and they went to the flop. On the {5-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop, Oganyan checked and when Astashkin didn't continue, Gao bet 2,000. It was a fold for Oganyan but Astashkin came along.

The turn fell the {5-Diamonds}, pairing the board and Gao barrelled for 4,000, which Astashkin check-called. The last card out was the {2-Spades} and Gao barrelled in position once more. Her 10,000 bet was too much for Astashkin, who passed and Gao is chipping up nicely.

Chip Counts

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

EPT regular Pete Chen is in the running. Chen took down two EPT Barcelona side events last year and is definitely one to watch.

Meanwhile Aleksandr Denisov is still flying high in the counts.

Radzivonau Pulling Back

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

After getting off to a flying start, Kiryl Radzivonau dropped below starting stack. He is now back up from where he started the day after winning a small multi-way pot. Radzivonau opened the betting to 1,600 and Leonid Bilokur flatted behind. The blinds came along too and the four went to the flop.

It came down {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and everyone checked. The same happened on the {3-Hearts} turn. When the dealer put a {10-Clubs} on the river and it was checked to Radzivonau, he made it 4,600 to get to showdown and got folds all round.
