Konopka Gets Some Back

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Karol Konopka
Karol Konopka

While Jon Kyte has soared to the chip lead once held by Karol Konopka, Konopka had seen his stack dip below five million until a recent pot that saw him get some back.

Konopka raised to 120,000 in the cutoff and was three-bet by Abel Aspas to 350,000. Konopka quickly called to see a flop of {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

Konopka then checked to Aspas, who bet 250,000. Konopka called.

On the {q-Spades} turn, Konopka took the betting lead and fired out 315,000. Aspas gave his decision some thought before folding his hand. The dealer pushed the chips to Konopka, who stacked them back up over the five million mark.

Avigal Healthy Again

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

When last we saw Meir Avigal, he was the victim of a runner-runner straight that crushed his flopped set and left him with just two big blinds.

He's since recovered nicely and excitedly informed PokerNews of a pot that helped get him there.

According to Avigal, he raised under the gun to 145,000 and got called by Dragoljub Martinovic. Simone Demasi then three-bet to 550,000 and Avigal moved in for a little under a million. Martinovic folded and Demasi called.

Meir Avigal: {a-}{a-}
Simone Demasi: {q-}{q-}

The board came {10-}{7-}{6-}{6-}{10-} to give Avigal a double up to over two million chips.

Zhechev Left Short, Eliminated

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

On a flop of {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Ivan Zhechev checked from the big blind to Jordan Woodall who bet 140,000. Zhechev replied with a check-raise to 350,000. Woodall called to see a turn.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Zhechev moved all-in, barely covering Woodall's remaining 620,000 chips. Woodall called for his tournament life.

Jordan Woodall: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Ivan Zhechev: {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Woodall's aces had the lead and held after the dealer put down the {5-Diamonds} on the river.

Zhechev was left with just 100,000 which disappeared shortly after and he was eliminated from the tournament.
