Fournier Involved in First Three Hands

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Samuel Fournier entered the first three pots coming back from break, with mixed results.

The first hand, he raised to 170,000 from early position and the rest of the table folded.

Fournier then raised to 170,000 again under the gun and Sandor Hadnagy three-bet to 380,000 out of the big blind. Fournier called to see the 1055 flop, where he quickly folded to a bet of 375,000.

Carl Shaw was late arriving back from break and had just retaken his seat when he raised to 175,000 under the gun. Fournier called in the big blind and the flop came 2610.

Shaw continued for 150,000 and Fournier called. Both players checked down the A turn and 4 river.

Fournier showed KJ for a missed straight draw, while Shaw had Q10 to win the pot with his pair of tens.

João Sydenstricker
João Sydenstricker

João Sydenstricker opened to 135,000 from middle position and Khazret Nebezhev made the call from the small blind.

The flop came 743. Nebezhev checked, Sydenstricker bet 180,000 and Nebezhev put in a check-raise to 415,000. Sydenstricker used one time extension before making the call.

On the 9 turn Nebezhev bet 665,000. Sydenstricker moved all in for 1,375,000 and Nebezhev called with slightly more to put Sydenstricker at risk.

João Sydenstricker: 99
Khazret Nebezhev: 33

Sydenstricker had turned a bigger set leaving Nebezhev drawing to just one out. The case three never appeared when the river came the K and Sydenstricker took down a massive pot while Nebezhev was left with under three big blinds.

"Show Me Ace of Diamonds": Marcus Prediction Leads to Double

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Van Marcus
Van Marcus

Van Marcus opened to 140,000 from under the gun and Santiago Plante used a time bank before three-bet jamming with Marcus covered. Marcus went deep in the tank and used six time banks before calling off with a stack of around 1,200,000.

Van Marcus: AQ
Santiago Plante: QQ

"Ace of diamonds. Show me one time," Marcus said when he saw he was against queens.

The 6K10 improved Marcus to a gutshot but he was still calling for the ace of diamonds. "I'm feeling the ace of diamonds. Right here."

The dealer then put down the A on the turn and the 2 on the river didn't change anything for Marcus to earn the unlikely double.

"Is that going to make it on TV?" Marcus asked as he raked in the pot.

Fournier Loses to Trips, Gets It Back With Queen-High

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Three-handed on a board of 57K6, Oshri Lahmani bet 330,000 from the cutoff before Samuel Fournier raised to 750,000 out of the big blind.

Markku Koplimaa got out of the way in middle position, but Lahmani stuck around and called. The river came the K and Fournier slowed down and checked.

Lahmani checked behind and turned over KQ to win the pot over Fournier's A6.

The next hand, Fournier limped in from the small blind before Carl Shaw raised to 240,000. Fournier called to see the K2K flop.

Shaw continued for 300,000 and Fournier called. The turn came the K and Shaw bet another 360,000. Fournier again called to the A river, where both players checked.

Fournier then turned over QJ and Shaw mucked as Fournier took the pot with trip kings, queen-kicker.
