Delfoco Extends Lead; Mattern Doubles Through Papazian

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Arnaud Mattern
Arnaud Mattern

Having defended the big blind against Francesco Delfoco, it was Alexandru Papazian who bet the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} turn for 105,000. Delfoco called and faced the very same bet sizing on the {5-Clubs} river. Delfoco then raised to 500,000 and Papazian folded.

"I hope it was a bluff," Papazian said and Delfoco inquired whether or not the Romanian had bluffed. "No, I didn't bluff," Papazian replied but neither player revealed their cards.

One hand later, Papazian jammed from the small blind into the big blind of Arnaud Mattern and the latter called for the 560,000 he had behind.

Arnaud Mattern: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Alexandru Papazian: {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Both had a piece of the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and Mattern stayed ahead on the {5-Diamonds} turn and {5-Clubs} river for the double to trade roles with his table neighbor.
