Nemeth Lasts One Hand

On his first hand of the tournament, Andras Nemeth limped the small blind, then called when Ole Schemion raised to 12,500.

The flop came A♠5♣10♦ and Schemion bet 7,500. Nemeth called and the Q♥ fell on the turn.

Schemion then bet another 27,500 and Nemeth again called. The river was the 7♣ and Schemion moved all in. Nemeth called and Schemion showed K♣J♣ for a straight.

Nemeth flashed A♥9♠ as he headed off to the rail.

Pardo Smacks the Flop

Kayhan Mokri opened to 5,500 from early position and was called by Juan Pardo on his direct left. Motoyoshi Okamura also came along from the big blind.

Action checked to Pardo on the K♦6♦5♦ flop and he bet 4,000. Okamura made it 16,000, forcing out Mokri. Pardo opted to stick around.

Okamura sized up to 28,000 on the 4♣ turn. Pardo moved all in for 78,500 just before his shot clock hit zero. The decision was back on Okamura who used up a time bank card before flicking in calling chips.

Pardo had a flush with his Q♦J♦ while Okamura had A♦J♣ for the nut-flush draw. The 7♠ completed the board and Pardo booked a quick double-up.

Shimizu Takes Out Schemion

Ole Schemion moved all in for 15,000 under the gun and Steve O'Dwyer called in middle position. Nozomu Shimizu, on his first hand of the event, then reshoved from the cutoff and O'Dwyer folded.

Schemion picked up a straight draw to go with his overcards on the K♣10♣8♠ flop, but he missed the 6♣ turn and 4♥ river and was sent to the rail.

Schemion quickly headed off to the registration desk and took his seat back at the table a few minutes later.

O'Dwyer Leaves Schemion on Fumes

Ole Schemion opened to 5,000 from the cutoff and called when Steve O'Dwyer made it 18,000 from the button.

The J♥10♦6♠ flop checked through to the 7♥ turn, prompting Schemion to fire out a bet of 19,000. O'Dwyer thought for about 20 seconds before announcing all in for 109,000. Schemion called as the slightly bigger stack.

Schemion was ahead, while O'Dwyer had a flush draw to go along with his overcard.

Kobayashi Flops the Nuts to Double

Before the hand, Kayhan Mokri pointed out that yesterday's champion Teun Mulder had yet to make an appearance today. "So Mulder is hit-and-running us, huh," he said.

"Is that really what you were thinking about," Niklas Astedt replied, bursting out laughing.

Hirokazu Kobayashi then raised to 4,500 under the gun and was called by Steve O'Dwyer in the cutoff and Mokri on the button.

All three players checked the 7♣9♥8♣ flop and action checked to Mokri on the 5♥ turn, and he bet 13,000. Kobayashi then raised to 35,000, O'Dwyer folded, and Mokri moved all in. Kobayashi snap-called for 79,000.

Mokri showed 6♠6♦ for a straight, but Kobayashi had J♥10♥ for the flopped nut straight as the J♦ fell on the river to seal his double up.

"Could somebody text the Dutch guy," Mokri added after the hand.

Mokri Picks Up Kings to Bust O'Dwyer

The flop came 4♥K♣3♣ and Kobayashi continued for 4,000. Mokri called and the 7♠ fell on the turn.

Kobayashi bet another 10,500 and Mokri raised to 40,000. Kobayashi called to see the 10♠ river.

Mokri then moved all in, having Kobayashi's remaining 100,000 covered. Kobayashi used a time bank before folding.

"Did you bluff me," Kobayashi asked.

"I would never bluff you. Would never even cross my mind," Mokri replied.

Dimov Runs Into Queens

The board ran out 9♦6♥10♣10♠Q♣ and Schemion rivered a full house to send Dimov to the rail. Kobayashi admitted he folded pocket nines and would've hit a set on the flop.

Astedt Makes a Flush on Mokri

Heads-up on a board of 8♦6♠7♠4♠, Kayhan Mokri bet 3,500 under the gun and Niklas Astedt called on the button.

The river was the 6♣ and Mokri bet 7,000. Astedt then raised to 30,000 and Mokri shook his head before calling.

Astedt turned over Q♠J♠. "Is that a flush," Mokri asked before mucking, claiming he had a straight.

"Straight no good," Astedt said.

Steve O'Dwyer finally took his seat in the tournament after sitting out the first few levels.
