Momentum All With Shimizu

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Kayhan Mokri raised to 40,000 in the hijack and Nozomu Shimizu called in the cutoff.

Both players checked to the river on a board of J51023 when Mokri bet 65,000. Shimizu snap-called.

Mokri showed KJ for top pair, but Shimizu had AJ and won the pot with his ace-kicker.

"Holy moley, I've never been more confident I was winning a hand in my whole life," Mokri said.

Shimizu then put in 30,000 from the hijack before being forced to make it 40,000. The rest of the table folded and Shimizu showed a deuce.

Shimizu raised again the next hand to 40,000 and Mokri called in the big blind. Both players checked down the J837K board.

Mokri showed A9, but once again Shimizu had him out-kicked with A10. "Didn't he have like 5,000 chips," Mokri said as Shimizu claimed another pot.
