Gordon's Revenge

On a board of {3-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, the big blind moved all in and Phil Gordon called. The big blind showed {K-Spades}{6-Clubs} for threes full of kings, but Gordon had the bigger boat with {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} in the hole. Gordon had his opponent covered and he was eliminated.

The eliminated player was the same guy who beat Gordon on a pot holding only {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} on an all-overcard board less than an hour ago.

Crowded House

If you thought the playing area at the WSOP was a bit cramped, well, you haven't been to the Casino Barcelona. Compared to the sprawl of Las Vegas casinos, our elegant Spanish poker venue is positively tiny. The 22 tables still in play are tucked into the back corner of the room on a slightly raised platform with a roped-off rail. There is scarcely room for one person to pass between tables and the din of conversation easily overtakes the sound of clattering chips.

The lively cash game section of the room is also completely packed. 2-5, 5-10, and 10-20 NLHE, 5-10 and 10-20 PLO and 20-40 and 30-60 LHE games are all currently running with a significant queue for each game.

A number of players scheduled to start their tournament tomorrow have been spotted visiting with their friends in today's field including Thor Hansen, Thomas Wahlroos, and Vanessa Selbst.
