Chalk and Cheese!

Steven Devlin and Annette Obrestad
Steven Devlin and Annette Obrestad
Today's flight has a completely different makeup compared to yesterday. There are some very interesting match ups at the tables. WSOPE winner Annette Obrestad is seated to the direct left of one of the UK's hottest online players, Steve "Allinstevie" Devlin.

There is usually a "Table of death"; today is no different and it has Peter Roche, William Thorson, Andreas Hoivold and Peter Jepsen.

Other Matchups

Pascal Perrault has been seated alongside Italian star Cristiano Blanco.

Luca Pagano has Joe Grech and the runner-up at EPT London, Florian Langmann, both to his left.

Slowplay, No Pay

Owen Mullan
Owen Mullan
Owen Mullen just lost a substantial chunk of his stack early on.

Pre-flop it was made 350 to go. Mullen called from the small blind in a four-way pot.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

It was checked to the pre-flop raiser who bet 800 and was called by both Mullen and the big blind.

Turn {A-Clubs} and Mullen check-calls another 1300.

The river is the {9-Diamonds} and a rather annoyed Mullen is forced to call another 1125. His opponent shows {A-Spades}{9-Spades}. Mullen showed an 8.

No Power in Two Pair!

Nicky Power
Nicky Power
Nicky Power, Irish Open 6th-place finisher, has flopped top two twice in the first level. Unfortunately for the Irishman the first time his opponent rivered a flush and the second time a different player rivered a higher two pair. Nicky is down to 5,000 chips after those two hands.

Flat tire

Annette Obrestad
Annette Obrestad
Annette Obrestad has gotten an early double up courtesy of her trademark positional aggression, on this occasion with the flat tire. i.e. {J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} (What's a Jack for?)

First position raised to 300. She re-raised to 1100 from the cut off seat and was called.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. She bet 2000, was check-raised all in and naturally called to find she was up against {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}.

No gut-shot came for the villain and the Norwegian star doubles up to over 20,000.
