Negreanu’s Best Intentions

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

At the start of the day Daniel Negreanu stated his intention was to finish the day with 100 big blinds or more. He has two more levels to make that a reality and he is currently sitting on around 75 BBs.

In a hand just after his dinner break Negreanu opened to 1,175 and picked up on caller. They checked it down to the river of a board reading {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} whereupon Negreanu bet 1,400 and took it down.

Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier has been eliminated, he pushed all in preflop with {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and PokerStars qualifier Timur Margolin made the call on the buton with {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

The board came {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Mercier's two pair were not as good as Margolin's. The American wished everyone good luck and then departed for the rail.

Annette Obrestad

Annette Obrestad was eliminated just before the dinner break and we got a player from her table to tell us exactly how the hand went down.

There was an open to 900 and a call before the player on the button raised to 2,000. Obrestad was in the big blind and shoved for 11,000 holding {10-}{10-}. It folded back round to the button who made the call with {a-}{8-}.

The board ran out {q-}{q-}{9-}{8-}{8-} and Obrestad was felted.

Jorryt van Hoof
Jorryt van Hoof

The 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event's current chip leader Jorryt van Hoof has been eliminated just now. Van Hoof walked into the press room and told us the details of his bust out.

After a raise and call, Van Hoof shoved all in with {A-}{K-} for his remaining 5,000. The initial raiser folded, but the flat caller did call.

Van Hoof got called by {A-}{J-}, and that gentleman hit an {J-} on the flop. Van Hoof didn't recover on the turn or river, and was sent home.

EPT Copenhagen winner Michael Tureniec has also been eliminated, but we don't have details of his bust out unfortunately.

Brammer's Three Pair Wins

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

On an {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} flop, three-way action was checked to Chris Brammer who bet 1,500 and Lauri Meidla was the only caller. Meidla then called another 3,000 on the {A-Diamonds} turn before both checked the {J-Diamonds} river. Meidla showed {J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} meaning Brammer's {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} was still good.

Mike McDonald

On a {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, Anton Kraus checked from the big blind across to Mike McDonald and the Canadian bet 1,200. Kraus quickly called to see the {8-Spades} on the turn.

Kraus checked a second time and McDonald carefully bet 3,000 but again Kraus called with great haste. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Kraus checked a final time. This time McDonald bet 6,000 and Kraus took about two minutes before making the call.

McDonald showed {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for a full house and picked up the pot.

Flush for Koczwara

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

From middle position, Govert Metaal limped in. Also in middle position was Bart Kuiper, and he raised to 1,450. In the cutoff seat was Mateusz Koczwara, and he made the call before action folded back to Metaal. Metaal called, and the flop came out {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

On the flop, Metaal checked, Kuiper bet 1,550, Koczwara called, and Metaal called. That brought the three players to see the {6-Diamonds} turn card, and Metaal checked. Kuiper also checked, then Koczwara bet 2,400. Metaal folded, and Kuiper called.

The {K-Spades} paired the board on the river, and Kuiper checked. Koczwara bet 5,400, and Kuiper called.

Koczwara showed the {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a jack-high flush, and Kuiper mucked.
