Loss For Leonard

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

David Peters and Patrick Leonard had got to the river of a board reading {10-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

Leonard bet 2,200 but Peters put out a raise to 8,000. Leonard hunched over the board trying to decide what to do, then declared that he really liked his hand and made the call. He liked it a lot less when Peter’s showed him his {k-Spades}{6-Spades} two pair and mucked his hand.

Farrell cried out, “Free roll.” on the turn of a board which finished {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} but they did, as Farrell put if, “Chop up Martin’s ace eight of hearts money.”

Aces Running Hot

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jose Quintas opened the action from under the gun for 1,000 and got a call from Max Silver. Patrick Leonard then bumped up the price to 3,100 but faced four-bet to 7,775 from Quintas. Silver had seen quite enough and folded.

Leonard then asked how much Quintas started with but got no reponse from the headphone wearing player. He did show him his stack though and Leonard mulled it over, counting out a raise and putting out the five-bet. Quintas responded with a shove and Leonard snapped him off.

Quintas had {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} but Leonards acting ability had disguised his {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. A run out of {8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} saw a double up for Leonard to 110,000 and reduced Quintas to around 20,000.

The very next hand saw an open from early position and a three-bet from Leonard to 2,150. Quintas then cold four-bet to 4,600. The original raiser asked him if he was planning to re-buy as he had a hand, but he did make the fold. Leonard then moved all in and Quintas called.

Leonard showed {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} but it was Quintas this time with the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Quintas called for a king but he didn’t get his wish as the cards ran out {9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} to double him up, but below starting stack.
