Loosli Busts Ivashkin

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Sylvain Loosli opened for 1,800 from middle position and action folded to Andrei Ivashkin on the button. The Russian shoved all in for 13,700 and both blinds folded. Loosli asked for a count, and upon seeing it was in the range of 15,000 he called.

Andrei Ivashkin: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Sylvain Loosli: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Loosli started stacking while Ivashkin made his exit.

Polchlopek Busts Gruissem

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Philipp Gruissem started the day as short stack and doubled up twice to get up to 50,000. Then, the German raised to 1,800 and was called by Michal Polchlopek in the big blind.

On the {K-Hearts} {7-Spades} {8-Diamonds} flop, Polchlopek check-raised from 2,600 to 7,000 and was called before firing the {6-Clubs} turn for 10,500. Gruissem called and The {A-Hearts} fell on the river. Polchlopek shoved and Gruissem called to muck stunned when he was shown the {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} of his opponent.

Jorgensen Busts: Kings vs. Aces and Jacks

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen has just been knocked out and the hand he busted on was rather remarkable.

It started with a raise from Dietrich Moritz who made it 1,900 from early position and Remi Lemeur called from the button. From the blinds Jorgensen three-bet to 5,500 and Moritz four-bet to 11,600.

The action was now back on Lemeur who moved all in for 25,000 chips and Jorgensen pushed as well. Moritz made the call to put two players at risk, and the showdown went as following.

Lemeur: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Jorgensen: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Moritz: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

Both Jorgensen and Lemeur were in serious trouble, and the board ran out {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to send both players to the rail. Moritz now sits on 224,000 chips and is the tournament chip leader.

Dermot Blain Back Doors Into a Flush

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Dermot Blain opened for 1,700 under the gun and just EPT Deauville champion Remi Castaignon made the call.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} and both players checked. Blain checked again on the {Q-Spades} turn, and called the 3,000 bet that followed. Both players checked the {K-Spades} river.

Blain showed {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for the nuts and Castaignon frowned and mucked.

Nosko Takes on a Team PokerStars Pro

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

With 6,200 in the pot and a flop of {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, Slovenia's Emil Nosko checked from the big blind and Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel bet 3,200 from middle position. Nosko then woke up with a check-raise to 7,700, and Duhamel paused for a few moments before moving all in for roughly 45,000. Nosko only had 35,000 total and wasted little time in calling it off.

Duhamel: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Nosko: {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}

It was a king flop for Nosko, who made two pair to pull ahead of Duhamel's kings. The {2-Clubs} turn wasn't particularly interesting, but it became so when it was followed by a repeat deuce, the {2-Diamonds}. Duhamel made a bigger two pair to counterfeit a clearly frustrated Nosko, who saw his EPT Malta Main Event cut short.

Nolte Puts Alvarado in a Tough Spot

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
JC Alvarado
JC Alvarado

When we arrived on the scene JC Alvarado was already contemplating a big decision, and we pieced the hand together with some help from one of the players at the table.

The player under the gun, Thomas Berends, had raised and Christian Nolte had made the call in middle position. Alvarado had then three-bet to 6,400 from he hijack and from his immediate left it was Remi Castaignon who four-bet to 12,400.

The action then folded to Nolte who pulled off a big move by going all in for 61,900 total.

After we had pieced the had together Alvarado was still in the tank, and eventually he decided to let go of his hand. Castaignon had the dealer pull in all the amounts, but even with only the shove left to call he decided to let go of his hand as well. Nolte raked in a big pot without showdown and he left everyone wondering with what hand he pulled off this move.

Litvinov Flushes Golob

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Joining the action on the {J-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {4-Spades} turn with a pot of 26,000, Christian Golob bet 25,000 and sent Artem Litvinov into the think tank. The Russian tanked and even apologized to the other players at the table for thinking for so long. Litvinov then shoved and some small talk followed before Golob released his cards.

Litvinov turned over the {Q-Spades} {10-Spades} for a flush and Golob sighed. "This guy hits everything!"

Costly Pot for Woodhead

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Stephen Woodhead five-bet shoved for effectively 67,000 and his opponent who had just arrived at the table snap-called the shove with {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}. Woodhead only had the {A-Spades} {K-Spades} and it was all over after the turn of a {7-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} board to leave the Brit with 20 big blinds for the next level.
