Peter Hedlund was in a rare moment of quiet when I approached his table to get an update on his chips. Sensing me standing behind him, he turned around and began singing to me: "Thank the lord for driving me home last night.." He sang, before abruptly turning his attention back to the game.
Andy Black found and got all the chips in on the turn with the board reading against Stig Farholt who was holding for the flopped straight. The river was an inconsequential to send the Irishman out of the tournament.
"I should have folded on the flop...." were his words as he left the room.
Roy Brindley lost most of his chips to Rolf Slotboom holding big slick on a J-T-x flop; Rolf held pocket tens. Brindley was unable to rebound after the hit and was sent to the rail just a few hands later.

Two of online poker's most feared players, Matt "ch0ppy" Kay and Mike "Timex" McDonald are both in today's field. Both also hail from the same Canadian city of Waterloo, Ontario. Neither player is old enough to set foot in a Las Vegas casino, but that hasn't stopped either of them from tearing up the felt, real or virtual.
McDonald recently won the Poker Stars EPT Dortmund, becoming the youngest player to capture an EPT title. He spent his 18th birthday last September playing in the WSOP-Europe and was busted from the Main Event by Jamie Gold. McDonald also made three cashes at last month's Aussie Millions, finishing 8th in the $5K Heads-Up, taking runner-up in the $1K NLHE, and winning the $1K Poker Pro event.
Kay is a constant presence on lists of the top ten online poker players. He won 9 online tournaments outright in 2007, including a $200K score for taking down the Poker Stars Sunday Million in January 2007. "ch0ppy" has made dozens of final tables and has recorded online tournament winnings exceeding $850,000.
