Luca Pagano is Eliminated

Luca Pagano
Luca Pagano
The last remaining PokerStars professional, Luca Pagano, has just been eliminated. He pushed on {Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts} board with {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and found Magnus Hansen willing to call with {Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}. The {2-Hearts} on the river meant Luca missed all his outs and he was eliminated. Luca has cashed 8 times in EPT competitions now which is a new record.

Allan Baekke Eliminated

Allan Baekke's comeback was unfortunately short-lived. He pushed his short stack in pre-flop and was called by his nemesis, Tim Vance.

Baekke {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Vance {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

The flop was {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

"You're still alive," said Vance, by way of consolation.

But it wasn't to be -- the turn was the {A-Diamonds} leaving Baekke drawing dead. The river was the {K-Spades} and he graciously shook Vance's hand before heading to the rail.

Magnus Hansen Doubles Up

Magnus got his short stack in with {A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} against Kristian Pedersen's {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. The flop of {10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{8-Spades} was not good for Magnus. The turn {5-Diamonds} gave him some extra outs. He was delighted to see the {A-Clubs} fall on the river to give him two pair and a welcome double up.

Allan Baekke Crippled

Allan Baekke lost all but 3,000 chips when Timothy Vance flopped a set of fives against him.

The next hand Allan was all in against Jarle Aasen with {K-Hearts}{3-Clubs} against Jarle's {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. The board was dealt {7-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} to give Allan a runner runner straight and put him back up to 11,000.

Kristian Pedersen Doubles Through Johan Lund

Johan Lund opened for a raise from early position, only to see Kristian Pedersen move all in for 42,000. Lund somewhat reluctantly called.

Lund {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Pedersen {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

The flop was {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, the crowd letting out lots of "oooohs" and "ahhhs" as Lund picked up a flush draw. The {9-Spades} on the turn gave him even more outs with a straight draw, but the river was the {5-Diamonds} and Pedersen's aces held. He doubled up to nearly 100,000.
