Let's Be Frank

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Christopher Frank, who final tabled EPT London this season, is making moves although one can tell that he still lacks the experience playing live.

The action folded to him on the button and he raised and was called by Max Altergott in the big blind en route to a {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop.

Frank continued for 825 and was check-raised up to 2,050. His answer was to three-bet to 3,000. Altergott then four-bet to 5,250 but Frank had thought it was an all in move and splashed in a few extra chips to represent the call. In fact, Altergott had another 5,700 behind.

On the {k-Clubs} turn Frank predictably set his opponent all in when the action was checked to him. Altergott made the call after some thought and opened a drawing {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Frank flipped up {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and held on the {7-Diamonds} river to bust his fellow German.

Kicker Problems

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Alex Bilokur opened to 900 from under the gun, Ilkin Amirov called on his direct left, and Justin Bonomo called out of the small blind.

The dealer fanned {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Spades}, Bonomo checked, and Bilokur continued for 1,325. Only Amirov called.

The turn was the {2-Spades}, Bilokur fired out another 2,400, and Amirov quickly called.

The {j-Spades} completed the board, bringing a fourth spade, and both players knuckled. Bilokur showed {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for a pair of queens with a king kicker, and Amirov had that beat with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens with an ace kicker.

Some Time With Newey

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

High Roller, Paul Newey, seems to be enjoying his day here and just slow played top set/full house to get three streets of value out of Roger Suter.

Newey was on the button and called a 600 raise from Suter in the cut-off. The board ran out {2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} with Suter leading for 800 and 1,200 on the first two streets. On the river he checked to Newey who bet 4,000. Suter called and was shown {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. He looked a little disgusted as he mucked.

The very next hand New raised to 550 from the cut-off and Vanessa Rousso defended her big blind to see an {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop appear. He continued for 800 and called when the Team Pro check-raised to 1,600. The turn came as the {6-Spades} and Newey gave up when Rousso bet.

Newey has a potentially huge week ahead of him as his friend on the rail confirmed that he intends to play the €1,000,000 buy in cash game if it goes ahaead.

Gomes Goes

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

After losing a pot to Friend of PokerStars Pierre Neuville, which bumped him down to 12,000 chips or so, Marvin Rettenmaier raised to 500 from under the gun. Arlo Dotson called out of the small blind, and Alex Gomes moved all in for 4,275 from the big blind. Rettenmaier re-shoved, and Dotson folded.

Rettenmaier: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Gomes: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Gomes was drawing very thin when the flop fell {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}, giving Rettenmaier a set of fives, and he was drawing dead when the {j-Hearts} turned. A meaningless {3-Clubs} completed the board, and Gomes was eliminated.

Rettenmaier now has 17,000 chips.

Dotson Takes it From Raskin and Rettenmaier

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Arlo Dotson has been really active today and he just won another big pot. Dotson raised it up to 425 under the gun plus two and Marvin Rettenmaiaer three-bet to 1,125 from two seats over. Micah Raskin called from the button and Dotson made the call as well.

The flop brought out {2-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Dotson checked to Rettenmaier who bet 1,625. Raskin called in position and Dotson followed with the call as well.

On the turn the {8-Hearts} hit and now both Dotson and Rettenmaiaer checked to Raskin who fired out 3,500. Dotson called and Rettenmaier took his time before also making the call.

The river brought the {K-Spades} and this time Dotson threw out 7,000. Rettenmaier folded quickly but Raskin did not want to miss out on this showdown. Raskin called and was shown {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}. Dotson raked in the pot while Raskin wasn't too happy with his loss.

"You knew what I had, right?" Raskin asked Dotson.

"I have no idea, enlighten me," Dotson snapped.

"Never mind," Raskin said as he slipped his headphones back on.

Raskin is still sitting quite comfortable on 44,000 chips while Rettenmaier is in a lot more trouble with 14,000 chips.
