Break!

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The final four are off on a 15-minute break with the end of Level 22 upon them.

Chris Grove Eliminated in 5th Place ($7,912)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Chris Grove
Chris Grove

Chris Grove made it 35,000 and Ronald McDonald called. Ken Moore then bumped it to 95,000 and after Grove shoved it in, McDonald folded.

Moore made the call with {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} setting up a classic race against Grove's {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The board ran out {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{k-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Spades} leaving Moore with a full house and Grove with very few chips.

He got them in the next hand with {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds} against Moore's {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and lost the 60/40 on a {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs} run out to end his run fifth.

One Million Chips!

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Steven Gurney-Goldman
Steven Gurney-Goldman

Steven Gurney-Goldman defended his big blind against a Ronald McDonald 41,000-chip open.

The flop fell {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and after Gurney-Goldman checked, McDonald made it 60,000. However, Gurney-Goldman was waiting in the weeds with a check-raise, making it 130,000.

McDonald let it go and Gurney-Goldman is now the first player past the one-million-chip mark in pursuit of his second HPO title of the season.

Chris Yeary Eliminated in 6th Place ($6,641)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Chris Yeary
Chris Yeary

With about 90,000 in the middle on a {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{J-Spades} flop heads-up with Steven Gurney-Goldman, Chris Yeary checked.

Gurney-Goldman made it 45,000 and Yeary check-raised, making it 100,000 more. Gurney-Goldman called and they both checked the {7-Spades} turn. The dealer dropped the {7-Diamonds} river down on the felt and Yeary jammed it in.

Gurney-Goldman snap-called with {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} having found a full house on the river and Yeary's {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} two pair was crushed.

Having him just barely covered, Gurney-Goldman moved into chip boss position as Yeary hit the road.

Michael Doubles Up

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Loukas Michael
Loukas Michael

Chris Grove tanked for a good four minutes after Loukas Michael open-shoved the small blind into his big blind for some 280,000.

Eventually he made the call with {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}, but was dominated versus Michael's {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

Michael doubled up after the {5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Spades} board brought no surprises and he's now on top of the chip counts.

Ronald McDonald
Ronald McDonald

Steven Gurney-Goldman made it 25,000 and Ronald McDonald pushed all-in for a little less than 100,000.

Gurney-Goldman made the call with {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and was behind McDonald's {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

The {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} run out ensured McDonald's double.

Carl Garland Eliminated in 7th Place ($5,429)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Carl Garland
Carl Garland

Carl Garland limped the small blind and Chris Grove checked his option.

Garland checked the {5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} flop and Grove bet 18,000.

Garland then check-shoved the last of his chips and Grove snap-called with {J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Garland held {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and busted after the {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} run out left him with just one pair to Grove's two.
