Alex Brenes Eliminated

The end of the road for Alex Brenes
The end of the road for Alex Brenes
Alex Brenes attempted to pull off the impossible. The old "chip and a chair" adage held true for Brenes over the last couple of hours. Somehow, he avoided elimination and dodged more bullets than Phil Hellmuth.

But, Brenes' luck ran out when he ran into Dominik Nitsche. The two were all in preflop.

Brenes: {A-Diamonds} {2-Spades}
Dominik: {8-Spades} {8-Clubs}

"Ace!" Brenes requested of the dealer.

"No way. You got lucky so many times already against me today. No ace!" joked Dominik.

"Ace is coming, you'll see," said Brenes.

"The Ace is coming," added Martha Eneida Herrera Gonzalez from the rail.

The flop was {J-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs}. Brenes then asked the dealer for a jack or an ace.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and the river was the {5-Diamonds}. Brenes' hand did not improve. Dominik won the pot and the two shook hands as the entire room gave Brenes a standing ovation for his remarkable comeback, which fell short.
