Maria 'Maridu' Mayrinck Eliminated in 24th Place ($4,711)

Team PokerStars Brazil representative Maria 'Maridu' Mayrinck has just been eliminated from the main event by Darren Keyes.

The hand was fairly standard: Keyes opened with a raise holding pocket jacks, Mayrinck reraised with ace-queen, Keyes four-bet, putting Mayrinck all in and a call was made.

A ten-high board ensued and Mayrinck, the longest lasting woman in the tournament, is your 24th place finisher.

Nothing Like Talking to a Wall...

Eric Levesque

With the board showing {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and a whole heap of chips already in the middle, we walked over to table two, where chip leader Eric Levesque was contemplating calling a 100,000 bet made by his heads-up opponent, Clay Maguire.

“I think you got tens,” said Levesque, thinking aloud.

“I think you’ll have a customer. You think I should go there?” he asked.

No answer from Maguire.

“You have a couple of seconds to convince me. Do you want to convince me?”

Still no answer from Maguire.

“No? I just don’t believe you. I just don’t,” added Levesque. “If anybody wants to call time, please.”

“Do you want the pressure?” asked another player at the table.

A few moments later, Maguire finally piped up:
“Time.”

“Who called time?” Levesque demanded to know. “He called time?” he asked, pointing directly at Maguire.

The dealer nodded.

A couple more minutes of painstaking deliberation passed before Levesque threw his cards face-up into the muck: {Q-?}{10-?}

“Do you have anything to say?” Levesque asked Maguire.

“No, other than I don’t know why you’re talking to me when I’ve got headphones on,” Maguire replied. “I couldn’t hear a word you said.”

After the hand, Maguire stacked up 260,000 in chips while Levesque dropped slightly below the 400,000 mark for the first time today.

Stockwell's Deuces Hold

Don Stockwell moved all in preflop and was called by Clay Maguire. Stockwell held pocket twos and Maguire held {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}. The board ran out {A-Hearts} {7-Spades} {5-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} and Stockwell jumped into the arms of friend and onlooker Humberto Brenes in celebration of his double up.

McKeon Doubles

James McKeon just doubled up through Darren Keyes. Since eliminating Andre Franke from the tournament, Keyes has doubled up both McKeon and Francis Cagney. It doesn't seem to have phased him though, as he's all smiles.

Andre Franke Eliminated in 27th ($4,082)

Andre Franke moved all in preflop from early position for 47,000. Darren Keyes called from middle position and then everyone else folded. Franke tabled {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} and Keyes held {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts}.

"Sorry for just calling, I tried to get some other people in." commented Keyes.

The board ran out {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {K-Hearts}, eliminating Franke in 27th place. Keyes is up to 360,000.

"I still chooo chooo!"

Wily Tican Rory "A.J." Graham has just been eliminated from the main event by Edgar Cruz.

The two got it all in racing, Graham with {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and Cruz with the {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}.

"Ocho, ocho, ocho, ocho!" Graham pleaded, as the dealer filled out the board:

{5-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}

"F*ck!" snapped Graham, when the {6-Clubs} fell on the river, giving Cruz an ace-high flush.

A gracious loser, Graham shook hands with his now former tablemates before exiting the tournament area. On the way out, he graced the room with one final display:

"I still chooo chooo!" yelled Graham, pumping his right arm like a locomotive.

"Show me the money!"

Arturo Morales has just doubled up through Clay Maguire and in somewhat of a strange display of camaraderie, half the table starting cheering for him.

Morales' attempt at a squeeze play was foiled when Maguire made the call, but it worked out in Morales' favor.

At the showdown, the following hands were tabled:

Morales: {7-Spades} {4-Spades}
Maguire: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}

The board then ran out {2-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} and Morales earned the pot with trip sevens to move to 140,000 in chips. Maguire dropped to about 210,000 in the loss.
