Csome to the Fore

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Sometimes giant stacks seem to spring up in the middle of the floor out of nowhere. So it is with Leandro Csome, who somehow managed to build a count of 180,000 without us previously noticing him. We'll be tracking Csome -- and his tournament-leading chip stack -- for the remainder of the night.

No Traction for Maridu

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Maria "Maridu" Mayrinck hasn't been able to steadily increase her count today. There have been a few zigs up and a few zags down. She's trending down again after folding a small pot to the button player. With 6,000 in the middle, Mayrinck tanked first to act on the turn, {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades}, then checked. Her opponent bet 3,000, then showed the nut flush, {a-Spades}{3-Spades}, after Mayrinck folded.

It's Da Chark!

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Humberto Brenes has been chatting, chatting and chatting with his table all day. He's also been stalled at about 45,000 in chips. He three-bet a recent pot pre-flop out of the small blind and was called by the original raiser. With 14,000 in the middle, Brenes led out for 9,000 on a jack-high flop, {j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. When his opponent folded after about thirty seconds, Brenes grinned and offered to show one card. His opponent pointed to the card on Brenes' left, which was the {a-Spades}.

Baroni Piling On

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Emerson Baroni seems to have his table at the front of the room well under control. It helps to have roughly 150,000 in chips. Sitting in position, he was the only player to call a raise to 2,700. Baroni's opponent continued for 3,400 on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}. When Baroni called that bet the action quickly slowed down. Both players checked the {k-Hearts} turn; Baroni's opponent also checked the {5-Clubs} river. Baroni fired out a bet of 10,000. His opponent sighed, showed the {5-Diamonds}, and mucked.
