Win Csome, Win Csome More

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Life continues to be rewarding for Leandro Csome. After opening a pot with a raise from middle position, he called a short stack's all in. Csome had the best of it with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} against {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Csome flopped {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs} to take a hammer lock on the hand. It was all over by the {a-Hearts} turn.

Csome now has more than 300,000 in chips. At this pace he'll be tough to catch.

Don't Bluff Humberto

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We approached Team PokerStar Pro (Costa Rica) Humberto Brenes' table and spotted him involved in a pot with David Etter. Etter was out of position and either bet or check-raised Humberto for 5,600 on a flop of {6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Hearts}. Humberto called, then checked behind after Etter checked the {5-Clubs} turn. With approximately 35,000 in the pot, Etter made a suspiciously small bet of 11,000 on the {10-Hearts} river. Brenes looked him up.

"Good call," said Etter. He showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

"You bluff Humberto! No good," said Brenes as he opened {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}. "Nice try!"

At that moment, Etter was broken away from the table. He shook hands with Brenes before leaving.

The very next hand Brenes raised pre-flop and then was three-bet by the big blind. Brenes called and faced a bet of 17,000 on a ten-high flop, {4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. He called again. Both players checked the {k-Hearts} turn and {9-Diamonds} river. The big blind showed down an unimproved {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

"Everyone try to bluff me," said Brenes with mock incredulity. He opened {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} to collect the pot. "No bluff Humberto!"

Brenes now has about 110,000 in chips.

Climo Climbing Back

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After a player raised to 4,200 from under the gun, PokerStars qualifier Lance Climo from New Zealand called from the button. The two players took the flop of {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and both quickly checked.

The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} adding another pair and bringing in a second flush draw. Both players checked again to see the {K-Clubs} complete the board on the river. The under-the-gun player fired a bet of 7,700 and Climo made the call, quickly and verbally.

Climo's {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a club flush beat his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and he won the pot to get his stack back up to 71,000 in chips.

Eliminação!

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We added a word to our two-word Portuguese vocabulary when Bruno De Oliveira Severino moved all in for 10,200 from early position. A player behind him then over-shoved for 16,700 and was called by a third player. Severino had the worst of it with {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. He was up against {A-Hearts}{q-Spades} and {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, respectively. The big stack's pair of nines held on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}, but Severino turned the {k-Hearts} to make top pair, good for a triple up after the {6-Diamonds} river. The other all-in player lost the side pot.

"Eliminação!" shouted the dealer, holding up that player's seat card.

Climo Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Lance Climo
Lance Climo

Lance Climo has seen all of his chips vanish after he got the money in on the turn with the board reading {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Spades} holding the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. His opponent had the {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}.

The river completed the board with the {9-Clubs} and ended the hand to send Climo out the door.

Mironiuk Out-Flips a Short Stack

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Carlos Mironiuk is a talkative player at the table. Unfortunately we can't understand a word he's saying (that whole language barrier problem). He was recently involved in a pot that he opened pre-flop. A short stack then three-bet all in and was called by a player behind. When action passed to Mironiuk he moved all in as well, or about 170,000.

Mironiuk's huge bet put the third player to a tough spot. Chatter commenced and lasted a few minutes. Finally, the third player folded and seemed not to be able to believe that Mironiuk had {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. The short stack had {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for a flip. This round went to Mironiuk, {10-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. He's up to about 220,000.
