Here Comes XTheDecanoX

Thiago Nishijima
Thiago Nishijima

We've been trying to catch Thiago "XTheDecanoX" Nishijima in a hand all day with little luck . . . until now. It wasn't much of a hand, but Nishijima, who won $249K in a 2009 WCOOP event, was in action. It happened when an unknown player in the cutoff raised and Nishijima defended from the big blind, creating a pot of around 2,900.

Nishijima checked the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, as did his opponent, and the dealer burned and turned the {Q-Diamonds}. This time Nishijima led out for 1,100, which was enough to win the pot. With that, the online pro was up to 35K!

Barbero & Celestino Gone

Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

Right after dinner, during the midst of our internet issues, Nacho Barbero passed by our desk and informed us that he had been eliminated from the tournament. Unfortunately we don't have the details, but we can confirm the Argentinian pro is out of the LAPT Chile Main Event.

Likewise, it appears Ariel Celestino has busted as he failed to turn up on repeated scans of the room.

Brenes Takes A Hit

Alex Brenes
Alex Brenes

Alex Brenes opened to 2,000 from the cutoff and was called by the player in the big blind.

When the {J-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} hit the board, the big blind led out 5,500. Brenes was quick to push his chips into the middle, but his opponent did the same. Not all that eager to show, Brenes tabled {9-Clubs}{6-Spades} and was miles behind the {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs} of his opponent.

The {K-Diamonds} turn and {A-Diamonds} river locked up the pot for his opponent, leaving Brenes with just less than the starting stack.

Solano & Hodalli Sent to the Rail; Montano Thriving

The action has picked up here post dinner, which means tables are being broke at a rapid pace and players relocated to new seats. During the shuffle, we noticed a couple of players were absent from the tournament; as such, we can confirm that both Miguel Solano and Samar Hodali have been eliminated from the tournament.

On the other hand, we discovered Luis Montano over on Table 8. He is sitting with a big pair of aviator sunglasses, which are complimented by a big stack of chips . . . 64,000 to be exact!
