Engel Gives Up Smaller Pot

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

On the heads-up flop of {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Ari Engel bet 500 from the cutoff and his opponent from one seat over on the button called. The {7-Diamonds} turn was checked by Engel and he then called a bet of 2,000 before check-folding the {2-Spades} river for the very same amount. The player on the button proudly showed the {K-Clubs}.

Generation Smart Phone

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With Jasper Meijer van Putten, Matthias de Meulder, Steven van Zadelhoff and Pieter de Korver all sitting in a row, one would expect some action or table talk. That has been very limited so far, though, and the four of them are very much focused on their smart phones when not being involved in a hand.

More New Faces

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Farid Chati is back in today after busting on Day 1a and same applies for Hossein Ensan, who showed up a bit earlier as expected. The German shares a table with Paul Berende and Eugene Katchalov over on table 28.

Matas Cimbolas sits next to Anton Wigg and Michiel Brummelhuis stares at them from the opposite end of the table.

Heinze vs Wetemans

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

The stack of Jasper Wetemans has already been cut into half. The Dutchman fired three streets of a board {8-Spades}{K-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} with 2,200 on the river as final bet into a pot of around 7,000. Olvedo Heinze raised to 5,000 and Wetemans was stunned almost immediately, then gave up the pot.

Early Exit for Teichert

Nikolaus Teichert
Nikolaus Teichert

"He has been playing very aggressive the whole time, I can't get out there anymore," Nikolaus Teichert said on the rail while chatting with Artur Koren. They were both watching Ole Schemion and Teichert had in fact been the first casualty. He got it in with {A-}{K-} against the jacks of Samy Kamal and the board bricked.

Only moments later, Steven van Zadelhoff raised and Pieter de Korver three-bet to 1,000. Kamal called and van Zadelhoff then reraised to fold to a shove of de Korver. It must have been a lot of action, as de Korver lost a considerable amount of chips in a short time.

Engel on the Up

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

On the four-way flop of {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, Ari Engel and Ole Schemion as well as two other players all invested 1,600 in chips to see the {7-Hearts} appear on the turn. The action was folded to Engel and he picked up the pot with a bet of 5,000, confirming a decent stack without showdowns.
