Flight A Complete; Katchalov, Pesek, Blackman and Guinther Move On
The first flight in the 2011 North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun $10,000 Bounty Shootout has come to conclusion with the first four spots at the final table being secured. Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov has advanced along with Scott Blackman, Michael Pesek and Jimmie Guinther. For winning his table, Katchalov has earned $40,000 as he had a nine-handed table to start with while the others took home $36,000 for their wins.
Some of the big names to be eliminated today were Team PokerStars Pros Jonathan Duhamel, David Williams and Vanessa Rousso. Joining them on the rail were Nick Schulman, Chau Giang, Dwyte Pilgrim and Dan O'Brien.
The second flight will start at 7:00 PM EST and will include names such as Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, Barry Greenstein, Nenad Medic and Allen Bari. As it stands right now, it looks like all the tables will be nine-handed for the second heat.
After the first flight, here's how the top bounty getters finished up.
Player | Bounties |
---|---|
Eugene Katchalov | 3 |
Scott Blackman | 3 |
*Tony Vo | 3 |
*Eli Berg | 3 |
*Paul Matteo | 3 |
*Dan O'Brien | 3 |
* - Denotes the player has been eliminated
As you can see, Katchalov and Blackman are the only two players to win their table so they'll have the best chance to earn even more bounties at the final table and take down the prize of an entry into the next NAPT Bounty Shootout.
We're off for now for a couple hours, but will return in a bit to post the table and seat draw for the second flight once it becomes available. Be sure to stay tuned to PokerNews as our coverage continues a little later on.
