Tehan Back to Starting Stack

Level 4 : 300/600, 75 ante
Joe Tehan
Joe Tehan

From under the gun, Joe Tehan raised. Matt Woodward reraised to 4,025 from the cutoff seat and Tehan called. The flop came down {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Tehan checked. Woodward bet 5,300 only to have Tehan check-raise to 12,500. Woodward folded and Tehan moved back to 50,000 in chips.

Slow Action

Level 4 : 300/600, 75 ante

Despite the fast and furious start this final table got off to, it's been pretty slow since then. The players are getting involved, but they are sure to take their time and think about every decision. The longer they take and the less hands they play only makes the blind increases that much more important. If we get through one or two more levels with eight players still remaining, you can almost surely expect to see the pots grow and the fireworks start to fly. That is also highlighted by the fact that every bounty at this final table is worth $10,000. We say, bring on the action!

Keating Folds to Smith

Level 4 : 300/600, 75 ante

Alex Keating raised from middle position and John Smith called from the small blind to see the flop come down {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Smith bet 2,600 and Keating made the call.

The turn added the {8-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {9-Clubs} fall on the river. Smith bet 5,000 and Keating tanked for a bit before folding his hand. Ship this one to Smith.

Woodward Doubles Through Duhamel

Level 4 : 300/600, 75 ante
Matt Woodward
Matt Woodward

Just before the level-up, four players saw a flop of {J-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{6-Spades} and action checked to Matt Woodward, who promptly bet 3,200. Jonathan Duhamel was next to act and he raised it to 10,600. The other two players folded back to Woodward who thought a minute before moving all in for 32,125 total. Duhamel quickly called and the cards were turned up:

Woodward: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Duhamel: {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}

Woodward was out in front with pocket kings but Duhamel had a ton of outs. Any queen, nine, or spade would send Woodward to the rail and the atmosphere at the table was tense. The dealer burned and turned the {5-Clubs}, a safe card for Woodward; likewise, the river was the {4-Diamonds} and he managed to hold on to double to about 70,000. Meanwhile, Duhamel dropped to around the same number.

Smalls Pots the Order of the Day

Level 3 : 200/400, 50 ante

After two monster pots early on, one of which resulted in Victor Ramdin's elimination in ninth place, the action has slowed considerably. The blinds are still small and the stacks deep, so it is no surprise the players are content to play some small-ball poker.

Smith Stays Aggressive

Level 3 : 200/400, 50 ante
John Smith
John Smith

John Smith raised to 1,150 under the gun and was called by Joe Tehan in the hijack and Shane Schleger in the small blind. Schleger then checked the {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Spades} flop and Smith c-bet 3,200. Both his opponents made the call as the dealer burned and turned the {9-Hearts}.

Once again Schleger checked and Smith, this time firing out 6,100. Both Tehan and Schleger quickly folded and Smith picked up the pot.
