Yu Outflops Sukonthachartnant, Wang Folds Out Spielmann
Phanlert Sukonthchartnant and Chung Yuan Yu have a history, with the Taiwanese player besting the Thai player heads-up in the 2017 Poker King Cup High Roller Event last May.
The two are clearly familiar with each other's playing style and we caught the pair in action not long after Sukonthchartnant had taken his seat.
It was the Thai player driving the action with an open to 1,200 in the cutoff, with Yu making the call on the button to take play heads-up to a flop of . Sukonthachartnant continuation-bet 1,500 and Yu made a quick call to bring in the turn.
This saw Sukonthachartnant fire a second barrel of 3,200, which Yu called once again and it was off to the river. Neither player liked it and the action went check, check. Sukonthachartnant flipped over but pushed his cards into the muck when Yu rolled over to take the hand.
We caught the tail end of yet another pot being played between Fabian Spielmann and Yang Wang over on the other table immediately after this, picking up the action on the river with the community cards spread and Spielmann (mid-position) was facing a Wang bet of 13,800, which looked to be close to two-thirds pot.
Spielmann looked sorely tempted but eventually decided to wait for a better spot, asking Wang to show as he folded, though the Chinese player declined as he raked in yet another.
