Aggressive Play From Wu

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Hong Kong's Terrence Wu just played a pretty interesting pot, and it all began with a limp.

He limped under the gun, and after one call from early position there was a raise to 800 from the hijack. That got calls from both the cutoff and button, and when it folded back to Wu he raised it up to 5,000. Only the hijack raiser would make the call.

Heads-up to a flop, it fell {9-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Wu took his time before continuing for an almost pot-sized 11,000. His opponent would be forced to lay it down, and Wu now stacks up 42,000.

King Wong

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

They say that three is the magic number. For Carson Wong, Level 3 has proved to be pretty special so far.

With a {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} board out there, and a pot of around 19,000 in the middle, Wong shoved all-in for 26,025 into one opponent who would eventually make the call (with a smaller stack) after some tanking. Wong turned over {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}, which was way ahead of the other player's {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. The {5-Spades} river completed the board, giving both a flush but Wong a better one.

We never caught Wong's opponent's name, for all of his chips were shipped Wong's way and he made a quick and understandably frustrating exit. Wong is now up to 63,000.

Jeho Sends One To The Rail

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Jam-packed poker room
Jam-packed poker room

Yet another swarm of new players have just entered the tournament, with not a single empty table left in the entire Poker King Club.

Amidst the hubbub of new arrivals, Lee Jeho was busy busting an opponent and raking in chips. The eventual casualty (who left before we get his name) had opened to 500 from the UTG+1 seat, and two people had called by the time it got to Jeho in the big blind. He three-bet squeezed it up to 4,000, only for the original raiser to shove for around 13,000. After two folds, Jeho snap-called with {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and saw he was up against a dominated {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, giving Jeho top two pair and securing him the KO and the pot. He's up to 49,000 now.

Zhao Gets Tricky

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

An interesting hand just played out between Yu Zhao and Binglong Wang. Zhao min-opened to 400 from the UTG+1 seat, before the player on his left three-bet to just 625. The next player up was Wang, and he cold four-bet to 1,500, which Zhao called but got a fold from the three-bettor.

That took them to a {j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop, which both opted to check. Zhao then led out for 1,800 on the {4-Spades} turn, and Wang stuck around to see the {10-Clubs} river. Zhao didn't continue down the aggressive path, and when he checked Wang seized control with a 3,600 bet.

Or so he thought. Zhao thought for about a minute before announcing an all-in for 21,600. Wang took his time to consider it, but would eventually let it go and drop to 29,400. Zhao dragged the pot and increases to 32,500.

A River Fit For A King

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Jin Zhelong might just be the happiest guy in the room right now. And that's saying something, what with the 200 tournament players plus the cash game grinders PLUS the thousands of people out on the casino floor.

He was just all-in with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} but ran it straight into {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. The {5-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop didn't help him, but the {q-Clubs} turn did give him some straight outs, should the river be a ten.

Then again, Zhelong could also just hit a king, and that's exactly what happened with the {k-Clubs} river. The entire table groaned, and people from other tables came over to take a peek at the run-good. Zhelong's up to 32,000 now.
