The Life and Tournament Death of Reilly

Andy Bradshaw raised under the gun and Tony Reilly moved in from the cutoff for not a great deal more. Bradshaw talked for a while, apparently largely to himself, before announcing, "I'm going to pay you off."

Bradshaw: {6-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}
Reilly: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}

"Whatever happens, I don't want you out," said Bradshaw in a friendly sort of way.

Board: {7-Clubs} {6-Spades} {3-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}

They shook hands and Bradshaw apologized. "Never mind," said Reilly, "We had some nice chats."

Eskilsson Takes a Few From Dooly

It was a battle of the blinds.

A few more chips slipped into Hans Eskilsson's stack courtesy of Gerard Dooly, who bet 2,500 on the {Q-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades} flop. It was called by in-position Eskilsson. Again, Dooly bet on the {3-Spades} turn, 3,500, and was called. The river came down {8-Spades} and both players checked, then waited, reluctant to show. Dooly showed the {10-Clubs}, Eskilsson made that "And the other one," sign with his hand, and was shown the {2-Clubs}.

He then showed his winning {K-Hearts} {4-Spades} and took the pot.

Quinnconceivable

A truly bizarre hand saw super-short Joe Rafferty double up to 15,000, although between the time he shoved preflop and his being awarded the pot, the floor had been called over for all sorts of things.

Rafferty was already all-in when small blind Packie Quinn put in a total of 3,000 (the minimum raise however being to 4,000), not noticing the initial raise. The table called for a ruling. While this was being considered, big blind Maurice Harmon folded out of turn, causing more consternation.

In the end, Quinn called the tiny amount left to him and turned {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs}. Rafferty, surprisingly unruffled, flipped the {A-Diamonds} saying, "I only looked at one!" The other...{A-Spades}. It held.

Testud Shows Fortitude

We arrived to see Matias Kaalpinen either betting or raising, with the board read {K-Spades} {4-Spades} {7-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}. Kaalpinen had pushed 20,000 into the middle. Paul Testud shoved for a total of 35,000, Kaalpinen called, and then looked most unhappy as Testud turned over his hand.

Testud: {9-Spades} {7-Spades}
Kaalpinen: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}

River: {8-Hearts}

Testud doubled up to around 90,000; Kaalpinen dips to 150,000.

Lundstrom Gets the Full Bradshaw Treatment

Henrik Lundstrom moved all in preflop over the top of an Andy Bradshaw raise. Despite having only 15,000 to call, Bradshaw went into a vocal tank.

"I have suited connectors. Sorry, not suited connectors. I have picture cards. Can I tell him what I have?"

With no answer forthcoming and the white-hoodied Lundstrom totally quiet, he continued, "Why don't you talk to me? I'm not going to bite you. I must be behind."

Then, addressing the table, "If he's not gonna talk to me I'm not folding! I'll beat your aces if you have aces. That's for sure."

He did pass, however, and the very next hand the floorperson told him that as the big blind he would be on the move. The floorperson was met with vocal remonstrance from Bradshaw's tablemates, who tried to convince her he'd just posted it.

Cryan at the Bar

Paul Cryan has been eliminated, short stacked and looking for a double up now that the blinds are 1,000/2,000. He got it in preflop with {K-Spades} {J-Hearts} vs. {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} , however, and five rags later he was sent to the rail.
