Welcome To The PKR Heads Up Grand Slam!

It's the first ever PKR Heads Up Grand Slam tournament!

Players receive 10,000 chips with blinds starting at 50/100 and increasing every 30 minutes.

Featuring numerous stars including Annette Obrestad, Peter Eastgate, Tom Dwan, Luke Schwartz and JC Tran, this is a knock-out tournament over three days.

All round 1 matches will be finished today.

1st Session Of Today

Annette Obrestad versus Ian Frazier

Sandra Naujoks versus Sammy George

Luke Schwartz versus Yevgeniy Timoshenko

Juha Helppi versus Jonas Westerlund (Qualifier)

Early Pot For Obrestad

Annette Obrestad raises to 300 on the button and Ian Frazier calls.

Obrestad bets 450 on the {J-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} after a Frazier check, but the Englishman calls.

The turn is the {K-Hearts} and it's checked to Obrestad again, she bets 800 this time but Frazier again decides to call.

Both players check the {7-Spades} river and Obrestad shows {J-Clubs} {10-Hearts}, Frazier mucks.

Reversal Of Fortune

Annette Obrestad has dropped back down to just about 5,500 after missing a straight flush draw and having to fold to a bet from Ian Frazier on the river. Frazier now has a 3:1 lead.

Meanwhile...

On the feature table, Luke Schwartz and Yevgeniy Timshenko are amicably chatting about staking people. This match has yet to see too much fireworks, but Schwartz appears to have the early edge.

Cautious Between Naujoks And George

A slightly more sedate HU encounter this, players are just feeling each other out right now. Naujoks just called a raise to 225 from George and fired out 325 on the {5-Spades} {K-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {8-Clubs} which took down the pot.

George, by his standards, is fairly quiet!

Ian Frazier Eliminates Annette Obrestad

The Norwegian wunderkind is the first player out today. Frazier raised to 1,200 and Obrestad shoved, getting instantly called.

Frazier: {3-Spades} {3-Diamonds}
Obrestad: {A-?} {K-?}

The board came {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {4-Spades} and Ian Frazier is the first player, he'll meet the winner of John Tabatabai against Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliot.

Luke Uses The Force. Schwartz Eliminates Timoshenko

After a standard raise from Yeveniy Timoshenko, Luke Schwartz reraises to 1,300. Timoshenko thinks for two minutes before min-reraising to 2,600.

Schwartz moves all-in.

"You've moved all-in? I call." says Timoshenko flipping {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} and playing for his tournament life against Schwartz' {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}.

The board runs out {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {8-Spades} and 'FullFlush' gets lucky to knock out the WPT and WCOOP champion.

New Players In Town

Andreas Johansson, the qualifier, and Antonio Estfandiari have taken up one of the new tables.

Meanwhile Sandra Naujoks has taken a 2:1 chip lead in her game against Sammy George.

Timoshenko and Schwartz continued an affable chat after the end of their match, debating the final hand with Schwartz wondering if he could've got away from the hand.
