Feldman Suffers Bonk On The Head

A huge crowd surrounded table four as Andrew Feldman was facing a 13,500 bet for a good portion of his stack against Tyler Bonkowski.

The board read {K-Clubs} {9-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {J-Clubs} and Feldman had the clock called on him after tanking for ages. As the clock counted down he lifted the cards so high that everyone behind him could see the {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts} that he was considering mucking.

Finally he threw the cards towards the dealer, Bonkowski showed {K-Hearts} {J-Spades} for a beaten top two pair that had pushed the set out of the hand.

More Sherbet For Herbert

Richard Herbert just knocked out two players after a nice little coup with Kings.

Patras Christos moved in with a short stack and Herbert called before Koen Reefman reshoved behind. Herbert quickly called this push too.

Christos: {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs}
Herbert: {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
Reefman: {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}

The board of {8-?} {7-?} {5-?} {3-?} {J-?} couldn't improve anyone enough to overtake Herbert's cowboys and he greedily raked in a big pot.

No Free River for Mason

Unfortunately, I didn't witness the action (I may be able to prise those details out later), but on the river of an {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} board, Jen Mason was faced with a circa 10,000 river bet. Her opponent looked as guilty as OJ, which may have induced the call, but either way, he had the goods this time with {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. "Good hand," commended Mason with a smile, who, with around 80,000, has suffered a minor chink in the armour.

Edit: Mason just informed me that she called a button raise and check-called both the turn and river, the latter for 12,000. "It was such a big bet," she told, "and one of those situations where he either has the world or nothing. He'd also been raising a lot of hands, and there was a good chance he had a missed draw."

Rumit for Improvement

Fresh off a GUKPT final table in London, Rumit Somaiya appears to have carried his good form overseas with a now 140,000 stack. I was going to ask how he obtained his chips, but I was left hanging on the sidelines as he proceeded to raise three hands in a row.

On the first one, he bumped it up to 2,800 from the button and received one caller in Andre Klebanov in the small blind. On the {Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Klebanov led for circa 10,000, and Somaiya called. Both players checked the {J-Clubs} turn, as well as the {5-Hearts} river, although Rumit confessed, "I really should value bet this, but I won't". But it was lucky he didn't in the end, as his opponent had {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} to out-kick his {Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

After picking up the blinds and antes with {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} on the next hand, Somaiya was in the thick of it once again a few moments later, raising it up to 2,800 from the hijack. This time, however, resistance was met in the form of Allen McAuley who pushed all in for an additional 9,100. "I must call, I guess," possibly wasn't what McAuley wanted to hear as he tabled {K-Clubs}{5-Spades} against Somaiya's {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}. A {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} board later and Somaiya had retrieved the chips he'd lost earlier, and earned a scalp to boot.

Dion's Dublin Adventure

Yann Dion continues to have an up and down day, but he has just struck another blow against Marc Wright.

Wright raised preflop and then check-raised all-in on a {10-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} flop. Dion called for his stack with {J-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} and was up against the drawing {Q-Clubs} {J-Hearts}. Wright missed all his outs on the {7-Spades} turn or {A-Spades}.

The latter was knocked out soon after as a result.

Julian Has Thewer Chips Than The Dealer Thought

For A Thew Chips More...
For A Thew Chips More...
Nik Persaud and Julian Thew got all their chips in preflop, both with around 20,000 left meaning one would have a chance of making a run for the money while the other would most likely be out.

Persaud: {7-Clubs} {7-Spades}
Thew: {Q-Spades} {J-Spades}

The board came {6-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {2-Hearts} as Persaud dodged a fair few outs on the river.

Persaud, "I had exactly 20,000 at the start of the hand I think."

Thew counted out his stack and believing he was covered left the table before the dealer recounted and shouted for him to come back. The dealer counted again before realising he had miscounted and poor old Thewy was made to do the walk of shame a second time.

"Sick rub!" said Persaud.

Boon Drowns in Flood

Liam Flood raised to 4,000 from under the gun and Robert Boon called. On the {10-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop, Flood pushed all in for around 35,000 and Boon folded, showing {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} in the process.
