Van Marcus Eliminated in 3rd Place ($162,415)

Van Marcus - 3rd Place
Van Marcus - 3rd Place

Van Marcus was on the button with a little over 600,000 in chips. He moved them all into the middle saying, "All the money, baby!" Andreas Krause folded from the small blind before Mathieu Clavet quickly called from the big blind. Marcus held {A-}{6-}, but was very much dominated by the {A-}{J-} for Clavet.

"Six of spades, watch this," said Marcus before the flop.

Maybe he was talking about the cards that wouldn't come, because the flop came down {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and there wasn't much there for him to cling to. The turn brought the {7-Spades} and that would be all she wrote. The river completed the semantics of things with the {3-Clubs}.

Marcus would take home $162,415 for his third-place finish and left with a smile on his face, shaking the hands of the remaining two players. Marcus was the only Full Tilt Red Pro to make the final table and did the host site well with his deep run.

Play Resumes

The cards are back in the air and the money is on the table for the final two to admire. Pressure's on boys, who wants it more?

Also of note is that now that play is heads up, the blind levels will only be 30 minutes in length.

Krause Extends His Lead

Andreas Krause raised to 160,000 on the button and Mathieu Clavet called from the big blind.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Clavet checked to Krause who bet 300,000. Clavet called and the turn came the {5-Spades}. Both players checked and the {2-Clubs} popped off on the river. Clavet checked and Krause fired 450,000 on the river, getting a quick call from Clavet.

Krause tabled {K-Spades}{3-Clubs} for kings up, good enough to win the pot and move to about 4.4 million.
