Tonking Takes Down Millen

William Tonking
William Tonking

Matthew Burnitz opened the action with a raise to 6,000 from early position. William Tonking three-bet to 18,000 from the cutoff before Tanner Millen four-bet to 39,000 from the big blind. After Burnitz ducked out of the way, Tonking re-raised all in with the bigger stack. Millen sensed trouble, but called all in for about 85,000 more with {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

Tomking tabled {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} and scored the elimination when the board rolled out {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

Bigger Pair for Baldassano

Vince Baldassano raised to 5,500 from middle position, Pradeep Deshpande called from a seat over, then Chris Klodnicki reraised to 17,400 from the big blind. Baldassano called the reraise, and after some thought Deshpande folded.

The flop came {4-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and Klodnicki led with a bet of 15,000. Baldassano raised to 38,000, and after a pause Klodnicki called the raise. Both then checked the {7-Clubs} turn.

The river brought the {9-Diamonds} and a bet of 40,000 from Klodnicki. Baldassano exhaled. "Either I'm beat or I'm good," he said, and carved out the chips to call.

"In that case, you're probably good," replied Klodnicki, who turned over {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Baldassano was indeed good, as he tabled his {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} to claim the pot.

Ryan Sets Up Raskin

Michael Ryan
Michael Ryan

Ayman Sawaged opened for 6,500 from middle position and got two callers in Micah Raskin from a seat over and Michael Ryan on the button.

The flop came {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Sawaged continued for 11,500, Raskin quickly made it 25,000 to go, then Ryan declared he was all in without missing a beat. Sawaged folded, and after thinking a bit Raskin called.

Raskin had {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} for top pair, but Ryan had a set with his {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

"Yes!" Ryan cried, pumping his fist and stepping away from the table momentarily. Then came the turn — the {2-Spades} — and a sudden sweat for Ryan as Raskin could still make a winning flush. But the river was the {A-Hearts}, and Ryan survived.
