Five-Bet Pot to Kurozumi

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Linh Le opened to 175,000 on the button. Munehiro Kurozumi made it 380,000 in the big blind and Le came back with 680,000. Kurozumi wasted little time before pushing in 975,000, and Le folded after some thought.

Top Set, Minimal Value for Chang

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Carlos Chang raised and got two callers before the flop, and everyone checked a {5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop. On the {10-Hearts} turn, Chang bet 200,000 after Darius Studdard checked in the big blind. Both opponents called, and everyone checked the {6-Hearts}. Studdard tossed {k-}{10-} in but it was far from good as Chang showed down {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}.

Players are on break for 15 minutes.

Threes Good for Chang

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Carlos Chang opened to 240,000 in middle position and called a three-bet to 530,000 from Joshua Steiner in the hijack. Both checked the {6-Spades}{a-Spades}{8-Spades} flop, and Chang check-called 375,000 on the {q-Clubs} turn. Check-check on the {8-Hearts}, and Chang flipped over {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Steiner couldn't beat it.

James Millman - 8th Place
James Millman - 8th Place

Carlos Chang opened to 240,000 in middle position and called the shove of James Millman, who had about 1.6 million in the next seat.

Chang: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Millman: {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}

The flop came {5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, giving Millman some more outs after pairing his five. The {7-Spades} was a brick though, and it was followed by another blank: {4-Diamonds}.

Grubaugh Calls at the Buzzer

Level 31 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Collin Grubaugh bet 335,000 on the button on a board of {3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Joshua Steiner check-raised all in from the cutoff. It looked to be about 2.4 million total, and Grubaugh went deep into the tank. After a few minutes, someone called a clock. With nine seconds remaining, Grubaugh verbalized a call.

Grubaugh: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Steiner: {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Steiner needed help on the river but had a slew of outs. The {4-Clubs} was not one of them, and Grubaugh let out a deep breath.

"I checked the flop, I played my hand so deceptively, I just couldn't fold," he said.
