Blechinger Wins an Early One

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante
Barbara Blechinger
Barbara Blechinger

There was 2,100 in the middle in a three-way pot between David Delaney in the small blind, Steve Wazwaz in the cutoff, and Barbara Blechinger who was on the button. Action was on the flop with a board reading {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Delaney led out with a bet of 1,100. Wazwaz quickly folded and Blechinger made the call.

Action was then heads up as the turn came {7-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river fell {9-Diamonds} and Delaney checked to Blechinger, who threw out a bet of 2,000. Delaney thought for about 10 seconds and then sent his cards to the muck, saying that Blechinger got lucky in the process.

The dealer sent Blechinger the pot and she showed {2-Clubs} for the bottom end of a full house before raking in the pot.

Welcome To Day 1b of the 2019 Canterbury Park Fall Poker Classic $1,100 Main Event

Fall Poker Classic
Fall Poker Classic

The 2019 Canterbury Park Fall Poker Classic $1,100 Main Event sees its second and final flight Saturday.

Friday’s Day 1a drew 157 entries with 27 players already having advanced to Sunday’s Day 2 for this $300,000 guaranteed prize pool event, and like the first heat, cards are set to get in the air at noon local time. Day 1b is expected to be even larger: players such as Ian Matakis, Jesse Rockowitz, Mark Bloomberg, and Blake Bohn were among those who did not advance yesterday, and at least some of them are expected to be seen back in on the action when it begins.

Players will receive 20,000 in starting chips and play 14 levels for the day, each of 40 minutes in length. Blinds will start at 100/100 and finish at 1,500/3,000/3,000 with 10-minute breaks at the completion of every three levels of play and a 40-minute dinner break after Level 8.

Unlimited reentries are available, meaning players may fire as many times as they desire while the registration period is open. Registration closes at the beginning of Level 12 at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time.

Will anybody come close to Day 1a chip leader Jeff Petronack’s 377,500 in chips from this second and final flight? Stay tuned to PokerNews to find out.
